Is no one going to talk about how disappointing Wilson was last Saturday?
15th did he crash at all? never saw him in any battles

Even his 22 rides last season showed more flashes

I think this season we fans are going to have to stop thinking a 15th in the MAIN is a bad ride....with all the talent and factory supported riders out there...simply having an off night can be the difference between 5th and 15th...

Making the main event in the 450 class is the same as a top 10 in years past...lets start giving credit where its due.

There was alot of smoke blown about Wilson over the break, Not so much about Hill , Metty. Grant. ET and Milsaps had sorry showings for sure, as did Wilson.

He'll be fine. I think Deano, coming into the American rockstar pro racer scene kind of got caught up in the lifestyle and hype a bit more than maybe some of the other guys. When you say he "rides young", I get it. He's on a fast track now to ride with the big boys...which might be steeper for him than guys like Baggett & Seely even. But, he's got more skill than most and on a great team...and Roger knows how to pick 'em. When the smoke clears this year, I see him inside the top 10.

But, as usual...what do I know?

I don't think Hill's result is indicative of what he can do. Only on the bike for roughly two weeks and was running a stock motor. But we'll see.

I think Wilson was just caught up with being a full time 450 rider and this year's competitive nature. He should bounce back well.

I think what Guy is saying is that if we get two more factory, or semi factory riders out there, or if we put Partridge and Tapia on factory equipment, we'll have no lappers. (I kid, I kid)

However, it would most likely be history if the entire field finished on the leaders lap. Anyone know if that has ever happened.

Not blasphemous, but not very smart. Last year at A1 the leader fell, handing the lead to Roczen. At that point Roczen was already losing ground to RV, and probably would've been 5-10 seconds behind by the finish (probably closer to 10). In fact, James Stewart, who was way back off the start, came all the way through the pack to battle Roczen by the end. And yet by the end of the race, even though he was "off the pace", Roczen had still lapped all the way up to 13th (not counting JS). That's 9 positions.

Plus Roczen was surely faster out there on Saturday than he was last year. Plus the lap times Saturday were at least 2 seconds shorter than last year.

So there you go. Three things things that should have increased lappers over 2014's race, but did not. (But if you wanna make a case for the track not being as hard as last year's, I'm listening.)

p.s. if we hadn't lost Hahn it would've been only one rider lapped.

Has the first race of the SX season ever come and gone without at least one or two of the top racers having a bad day ?? In many cases walking away uninjured is as good as it gets.

The fact that only two riders were lapped is a good indication of parity. That is a damn fast group of guys.

Anyone who doesn't believe that you will see 3, 18,15 (and others) near the front is foolish.

You can bet that 34 has a fire in the belly two nights from now so the 250 class will be interesting as well.

Man I am glad it is racing season again !
