nicest thing he's ever said. not that he meant it that way. but if he's right, that would certainly bolster DV's credibility, not that he needs it. pretty shrewd thing to say. said he thought he was pretty technical too. definitely surprised me a bit.

i can see someone help Peick become a bit smoother, more efficient and really unlock some more speed.

Said he has more potential than other guys in his orbit (Grant,Wilson, some others), could be a podium guy, maybe a race winner. Interesting thought since when he's shown on tv he doesn't seem to be very smooth and makes mistakes, makes you think there is more speed in there vs a smooth rider like the guys mentioned above.

He really might be right that Peick could have more upside than the other riders they mentioned.

Peick's progression rate is unrivaled. Seems to keeping improving to boot.

DV keeps it real. "In the Summer it's hot, in the Winter it's cold" Laughing Peick's real too and DV gives credit where credit is due.

Well, WP went from a privateer, LCQ rider, barely qualifying for main events to top 6 rider (a solid top 10 guy on any given weekend depending on the competition and venue). He's doing something right. Maybe there are some more tweaks that could take him to another level. If DV thinks so, that says something.

Bet you've never had emotional outbursts at times. People are human. Humans make mistakes. All time is quite a bold statement.

Think Peicks Peaked
I don't think he's peaked, but he's maybe plateau'd a bit this year compared to his rapid rise in recent years. He had flashes of stepping up further in SX, and has been hampered by a thumb (?) injury this summer, so I believe if he's 100% for SX, and keeps that fire that he had during his rise to a factory ride, then there's more speed in him yet.

Funny he would compare him to the likes of Wilson and Grant, arguably some of the most naturally gifted riders ever, where Peick is completely different. The only guys I'd compare him too would be either Alex Martin or Zach Osborne, two late bloomers that have shown that the working man's grind can lead to race wins.

The comparison is because these guys are team #2 riders, didn't really have to do with style.

It certainly helped a great deal but other factors helped as well; great Bike/Team, One of the most mature/experienced riders in the class, etc.

I’m not sure I feel like he has reached his ceiling.. he has come a long long way over the past few years. I guess he could go to the next level..

I dunno, is he still progressing? Not really. A few races ago Barcia and Musquin went down in the first lap and then during the race they both passed guys like him as easy as they would pass me.

"Nicest thing he's ever said..." who, where, what, when?

I really don't understand this trend of late to bring obscure posts to Vital as if everyone here knows what you're talking about and have listened to whatever conversation you're referring to, which most of us haven't and don't. Why don't you lazy m-fers cite what you're referring to or take the few seconds to post a link so we can have a listen for ourselves and understand what the fuck you're referring to?

Is it really that hard or do some of you live in this pathetic virtual world where everything just bleeds together and you all just assume we're all on the same page and consuming the same content you are? What kind of fucking twilight world are we living in?

That he has plateaued is DV's point: he needs to make changes to his style to unlock the rest.

I'd love to see them work together. Roll the cameras!

DV has great insights, never bullshits, and is a great co-host - even with the low energy at times. Maybe especially because of the low energy.

The improvement Peick has shown over his career is astounding. He is a great talent, and I feel a healthy Peick with the right trainer could absolutely be a consistent podium threat. He has the grit, work ethic and determination to go the course. He's mentally tough and a fighter, and that goes a long way in this sport.
