Just heard that Doug Dubach will be riding the vet world cup race at the
USGP in Glen Helen.
That would be great if confirmed.

Unfortunately, there is no qualifying for the GP. Entrants are "selected: by AMA (2 for each class) and Youthstream (balance of 40 in each class).

I used to enjoy going to the USGP's at Unadilla and cheering for Chris Coleman and other locals who were trying to qualify.

Unfortunately you don't know what's going on because they said they will take as many American riders as they could get.

But go ahead and believe what you want.

From MXA:

The AMA as the FMNR (host federation) organizing a FIM MX1/MX2 Motocross World Championship Grand Prix may enter two riders in each class. AMA will nominate riders from the United States applicants. Additional entries may be accepted by the promoter (Youthstream) depending on the number of permanent riders participating.

This means, depending on how many GP regulars attend, Youthstream will fill the balance of the 40-man gate with AMA riders.

The last time I talked with Doug, he didn't want to participate in the GP because it might affect his eligibility at Loretta's, which is more valuable to him.

If he's in for the vet race, I'm guessing he discovered that he could do it without affecting his eligibility.

There will be more than 20 riders for MX 1 and MX 2 from across the Pond and the rest of the 40 rider field will be riders here in the US no matter what country they are from. And I heard more than 10 from across the Pond for the Vet GP and the rest filled out by riders here. They have to be over 40 and under 55 and those over 50 need to have a EKG done before their entry is accepted. Entries close on Monday. This is what I heard so it could be rumor.

Yes, that's true; but, he served notice on a YZ125H.

He conquered the World on Factory Hondas.

He conquered our hearts with his will and his smile.

were are the "sand bagger" bunch when dr d laps the 40+ at LL after running pro so long and winning a sX race?

Or is it just a guy that preaches jesus and rides B/C that gets the "he is a sand bagger " posts?

No such thing as "sandbagging" a PRO/Expert race like the + classes at LL with the except of 30 B/C.

Amazing when expert and former pro riders complain about getting beat....its worse than the B/C guys....

Some of you have a way of lettin' the Sand in your Vag turn into a bitch-fest...ALL THE FRICKIN' TIME!

Save it.

Shut up, go practice or jus' give it up.

There are RULES for the former Pro's that go "Old-Guy" racin' at Lorrettas...and...guess what...

Doug's followed those rules.

Besides, some day...very soon...someone's gonna tear up the 30A class on a Dunlop shod...Honda(?)...

Some guy outta 'Bama.
