Anyone here ever use a DPR cone pipe. What is neat is they appear to be "all cone" and not stamped like the beginning part of a Scalvini... and don't seem to be too highly priced considering they come from across the pond. Thinking about trying on on my YZ250... and though my PC is fine, the cone pipe just looks stellar. I just dont want a big decrease in performance or poor fit. Any opinions?

I know Quiknic on here got some for his Suzuki builds not long ago. Maybe he can chime in or send him a message.

I purchased one for my 92 RM-125 and 92 RM-250, cost is decent but fit & finish was lacking as they do not have complete welds on all brackets. The brackets could be better finished like a Pro-Circuit but it’s not terrible, I also had to heat up a bracket to bend and make fit better. Shipping from Netherlands took about 10-12 days.

I have not had a chance to test the RM-250 as I am still mid-build but the performance on the RM-125 is better on the bottom end. Still working on testing with a V-Force reed block. I can provide an update on the 250 pipe in the next month if you haven’t bought one before then.

Customer service is terrible.... waited months for my pipe for 93 cr 250 to come and once it finally arrived it was for an earlier model... paid for a silencer also and it never arrived so waited ages on refund. I hear the performance is meant to be good tho, just make sure u get the correct pipe lol.. don’t think their English is that good.

Thanks for all of the comments and pics. Looks like mixed reviews, so I am going to explore my options a bit more. Thanks!

I was about to buy one DPR pipe for my 125 RM 2008 but i decide to wait a bit and then i ordered a DRP.
(i didn't try it yet, but the fitting is not really good too).
For your YZ 250 you can try to contact Doma racing (they also make cone pipe) or Damon's pipe,
but if you have difficulties to find them, i think a scalvini is a great choice...

Looking isn't cheating. If it is she's got you on a very tight leash.

Based on what I saw in Cameron Niemela's video with the DPR pipe he bought for his CR250 build - I wouldn't even consider forking out my money to DPR. I used to admire them because they look trick as hell... but holy shit what sloppy craftsmanship.

I've got the video below cued up to the pipe install where he goes over the imperfections and finally voices his frustrations on being unhappy with fit and finish

Based on what i sa in that vid.

The rear mounting bracket on the pipe is already smashed... Maybe trough transportation. Or he did it by it's own just like the blue colour on the pipe.

The bracket on the front.. ow dear it's a half inch short but the holes line up.

The exhaust springs are to tight?? Really?? It should be tight, you don't want a flapping pipe in the cylinder. That's why a lot of ktm 2 stroke pipes brake on the bracket.

Finish?? Well if you gonna heat the pipe up with a flame torche to get blue welds well that is a typical american thing.

Kickstarter hitting the pipe?? He changed that in another vid.. but i have the same with a pc pipe so whats the problem.

It should give more low end?? Really riding a smoker and you want low end.. lugging around on a hard pack in third gear. The powerband what it will give is good, nothing to complain about.

If he got a discount then the name would be told 50 times when he was working with it lol

Nothing is flawless when it's hand build that's why we are humans and not robots. Even watches from 40k can brake internal within a year.

I'd look into a tyga pipe. Stainless steel cone pipe and it has good reviews on thumpertalk.

Just a note on the Scalvini pipe. I researched the hell ouit of cone pipe's before I ordered my first Scalvini. I couldn't find another pipe at the time that had the review's on performance / availability / looks / price , ect that matched the Scalvini. I bought my first one 3 years ago for my RM 250 , and the fit and finish is better than any pipe I've ever owned. My first cone pipe yes , but I've ran just about every major brand in the past , and not one of them fit as well , or preformed as well. It is hands down the best 2 stroke pipe I've ever used ( and tough as hell ). I went against the norm on a TC 125 build and bought one for it as well.......awesome doesn't even describe it. I bought my 3rd one just two weeks ago for my new TC 250 , which should be all back together by this weekend , and test ride it next weekend.

The beginning 1/4 of the pipe has two small stamped sections in a tricky curved area. The rest is a true cone pipe. If you want it for looks only and just have to have a " Full cone " , and possibly a pipe that will not perform as well , then yeah , get something else. The scalvini is a pipe I will run on all my 2 strokes from here on out. I'd be more then happy to test another brand cone pipe , but I see no reason to change something that seems to work beyond perfection. Just my $0.02.

All great info, thanks to those who posted. At this point I think I will just rock my PC pipe. Sure love the looks of the cone pipes though!

Look 10/10
Fit 9.9/10
Finish 10/10

The 0.1 point is because the kickstarter doesent go in 100% but it was worse on my PC, no shaving on the top of the pipe, it makes contact right before the frame.
Not a single mm wrong on the brackets like it was mentioned higher up, and the sound is really different from the PC, i dont know when i get the time to test the performance though.

Great to see that it fits.. never had any problems with fitment of a dpr pipe. Don't understand about the kickstarter. Not having that
