Who can tell me what the current #'s are for Dirt Bike sales in the US, compared to let's say 10 years ago or maybe throw in 20 years ago as well ?

I heard some staggering #'s and am curious to actual facts. I know they are making less bikes than they used to, because of it, but who has accurate facts/info that they can share ?

Dear Langhanfilmacademyawardbigdickmofopornstar,

Word on the street is that we're at a "small fraction" of what we once were...

Yet the manufacturers haven't gone out of business yet... and KTM sales have boomed and are the most expensive on the market.

They sell bikes on other countries too, I don't see them going out of business, but the amount of bikes imported here are down tremendously, from what I had read... can't seem to find the article, hence this post.

The article I had read said "Dirt Bikes", but I didn't get to finish reading it, I was in the waiting room at the dentist.

MotoUSA.com used to post quarterly results of bike sales, but it looks like they are out of business.

This sport is a shell of its peak in the early 2000's. I don't think just bringing back 2-strokes will be the answer like many think it will. Electric has a chance if it can get MSRP down considerably.

Off road Motorcycle sales are such a tiny part of the big picture for honda, suzuki, Yamaha, and kawasaki that one has to wonder sometimes why they even bother.

access to riding areas I think is the biggest problem, dad does not want to take johnny for a 2/3 hour ride each way.

I'm in Jax and am lucky to have 5/6 tracks within an hour drive....but that is track only, when I was a kid we could drive 15 minutes to saddle back and just play, not many play areas around.....even with electric and the assumed city parks....again that will be a track probably.....not many places to play and i think that is where the love of dirt bikes is developed.

We used to ride and race a lot, but as my son is now in college and working when does the 18-24 year old have time to ride, this is where we lose most riders and hope they pick it back up when they have time and make a bit more money ....and then hope they have kids and start the process.

Just wait til the current 50/60 year olds hang it up, bike sales will even take a bigger hit.

No one is interested in growing the sport, TV does not put kids on bikes, really it is just great entertainment

look at atv, side by side sales, pretty expensive and that segment to to be growing in the southeast....
