My riding group is sponsoring and helping out with a few off-road events this summer and we are thinking about getting some pit shirts made for us. Have any of you guys had a company design logos for you? Any advice on how to come up with logo ideas and who to order our stuff from? Thanks guys.

Needed something simple and old skool for a company that developed a trick dampening rod kit for CZ forks.

I think we are going to get shirts with our group name (JBR Racing), but as we help out with more events it would be cool to have a logo or something a little more unique so we can add it to the event banners. Plus it would just be cool to have your own logo, you know?

Probably something similar to what JGR has on their bikes. Our riding group is JBR Racing so not sure what kind of logo we could do, some cool font or simple design would work.

My graphics guy whipped me up a logo a while back, like the guys mentioned above I bet someone like that could do a legit one for you in no time.

My graphics guy whipped me up a logo a while back, like the guys mentioned above I bet someone like that could do a legit one for you in no time.

No problem man, I do the same thing almost, but I tell them I'm a doctor and give them medical advice.

Wow they definitely nailed it with the old school look. A clean and simple design seems to me at least, more difficult to pull off. Really makes you appreciate the hundreds of logos we see on everyone's bikes every weekend.

I'm not sure this was directed directly at me, but to me if a person/group is not doing it for the $$$, e.g. just helping out riders/events, I have no problem in offering a giant discount.

I've sponsored a rider with free website/artwork and it was 100% worth it. Every case is not the same.

Thank you for posting this. I assume you are a designer as well. We have all done our fair share of freebie work.

I get people coming to me all the time asking how much for a website, logo, design etc... I give them an estimate + a proposal outlining what I will do for them. Most sign it and we are on our way. Recently, I had a project lined up and scheduled...then I find out they had a site done for $200.

I was super upset at first, but now I just think to myself. If someone wants to work for pennies, I'll let them. There are always going to be people who are willing to work for less. I would rather spend time with friends and family than do shit for free.

I'm in a position now where I have more work than I can handle, I charge what I want and most of the time they pay it. Not only do they pay it, they trust me. The people who want stuff for free or cheap are the worst clients. They change things 100 times..combine designs. Go back and forth. There is a reason why they don't have the money.

Just as a side note. One area I am able to truly make more money and work less hours is through added value. A client I have recently started up a distribution center in India. They wanted the same site as their US site except with the products from India. I was able to clone the site and make a really nice profit off very minimal time. Added Value.

I'm in the printing and graphics business as well.
There is definitely a "race to the bottom" as far as pricing is concerned. I'm fine losing that one.
