While we are on this topic I want to get a new Shoe painted up as a Redbull helmet. One place gave me a quote of 2 grand which is retarded to keep it pg-13. I'm very interested in this if anyone knows.

had my agv done by Chad Carothers who was a ...Lost Surfboards painter. http://chadartworld.com/ after shipping to/from the total was $900. it has an all matte/satin finish, and is a design that I came up with.

for good quality work the price range is generally b/w $800-$1500. this all depends on the complexness of the design, products you use...paints (pearls, kandys, metallics) and if you want to incorporate logos, characters, or use gold/silver leaf.

my top 5 painters in the world. IMO are...

1. Air Trix http://airtrix.com/
2. Jens Munser Design http://www.jmd.de/neu/
3. Beam Designs http://beamdesigns.com/
4. Troy Lee Designs http://www.troyleedesigns.com/
5. Antman Helmet Design http://antmanhelmetdesign.com/

I made this forum up a while back check it out...http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Top-10-Helmet-Painters,1212289

Painters generally arent supposed to paint corporate logos without permission from the companies. I've never heard of a painter doing a Red Bull helmet for anyone other than a Red Bull sponsored athlete. I called Nick Pastura Motorsports to get a quote on a Jamie McMurray replica job and they quoted me at $950 but said they can't put on the Bass Pro Shops logos because of legal reasons. that was fine, I don't want the logos anyway.

Did you try Bob Smutz at Flyin' Kolors from here in Michigan? I'll try and get some contact information.

Red Bull doesn't license their logo out and have been known to go after people and companies who use their logo without their permission.

It's going to be difficult to pull that off. There's a reason you only see top tier atheletes with that logo.

I definitely wouldn't paint a Red Bull replica without (at least) verbal consent from RB.

Yeah and you won't get it either. they are really protective of their helmets.

I met a RB athlete rep who explained to me that there are lots of red bull sponsored athletes who don't get a helmet. It's like they have to work their way up and slowly progress through RB apparel to RB logos on their gear to finally RB helmets. They won't even let graphics companies include the logo on replica kits.

HCP Designs out of Michigan is hands down one of the best "smaller" guys out there. Chad who owns the company is a one man band and his designs are flat out sick! You'd be surprised how affordable one of these lids are. He also did a bunch for snow cross racers when Blair Morgan got hurt.

Check them out!

Tagger Designs. As far as the red bull logo they wouldnt come after someone for a one off custom paint job.

you think that Tagger is going to put a RB logo on without proper corporate approval, try again.

Do any of you guys remember Bob's Krazy Brush from the 80's, he was a helmet painter in the South Bay area, I remember him coming out to Ascot.

I would love to recommend a good painter,,,, but 6- 9 months is too long in my books for turn around....

Why would you pay to advertise for any company that isn't paying you to run their logo ?

Just adding another option but if you want to see a lot of options in one place check out http://helmetink.com. It is like a showcase of helmet artwork and artists and they all link back to the artists so you can contact them directly. Worth a shot.
