Has anyone tried to find a creditable team manager and try doing a fans/spectators crowd funded team for supercross?

This is interesting.....I would put in a grand or two. Maybe have a level of funding for pit access at supercross events when they come to town...?

Yep, a lot of upside for the fans and interactions with the team. For people to take it seriously though. It would require the proper management personnel and mechanics/equipment to make it work. I to would do the 1-2k level. Just doing some feelers in here to see if this is something to consider. The team sponsorships seem pretty week so far this year and just doing some creative thinking today. Guess I will chat with some of the top 10 riders too to see if they would consider if the funding could match their salary. I was thinking of CR22 would be great for this. Maybe I will call in to PulpMX monday and see what they think.

I would not. I will pay tickets for races but i wouldn’t support a team giving them 1-2k. Not even 100$.
I already have troubles paying my races, new tires for the weekend, pistons, transmissions and the list could go on. Not to talk about transfers.
Sorry not sorry.

Why would anyone do this? What benefit would the "Crowd Funder's" get out of it?

I proposed a similar idea earlier this year but didnt run with it. Been too busy and I dont want to take peoples money if I cant give the project the attention it deserves.
I think enough people would chip in that you could sponsor a rider. Idk about a team though, big difference between shroud stickers and a truck/bike/mechanic/spare parts and so on.

Um.....if you want to blow $1k on funding motocross racing go check out gofundme.

All kinds of opportunities there, from 3 year Olds that have parents that are sure their kid that has done a few laps around the yard on a pw with training wheels and has the perfect genetics to be a top racer to 50+ riders wanting to live the dreams of their youth and qualify for LL's.

You'd need 2,000 people at the $1,000 donation level just to buy the trailer. LaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing

Team Crowd: Hello Feld, can we get a couple of extra pit passes for A1? The team owners want to attend.

Feld: Sure, how many do you need?

Team Crowd: An additional 5,000 or so should do it.
