Ping should call live on the Whiskey Throttle Show and troll the guy. "David who? Never heard of the guy? Will you take 1700 and some tattoos?"

In FRITCH??? I'm 2 hours away and have relatives there. Fritch is a tiny little ranching/farming town. I'm wondering how in the world Pingree's bike ended up THERE.

$5000? Naw.

LOL. That gets on my nerves. I watch snocross during the winter and one of the announcers keeps saying "these drivers."

If it has handlebars = you ride / rider

If it has a steering wheel = you drive / driver

No one drives a bicycle, motorcycle, etc

Ping ran his levers really high!
And routed the brake line on the outside of the fork guards 😂

The team he rode for then, didn't they hail from TX? Or, maybe Billy Whitley was their manager and he is from TX? There is a TX connection somewhere, just not sure how.....

Whitley is from the Houston area, and Primal Impulse was owned by a guy who lived near San Antonio.

One of Jiri Dostal’s (supposedly) Primal Impulse RM125s popped up on CL in SA a few years ago. There were several signs that it was the real deal, but a lot of the good stuff was replaced with stock parts.

That looks like a stock bike with a graphics kit, wheels and a set of pro tapers....possibly a pipe. At least, from the professional photo shoot.

Damnit, I was literally in Amarillo over night and left this morning on my way home. 😩 I’d say it’s pretty legit. Still has the mag rear hub...

I'm with you on this one...

RJ does the driver thing... probably spent too much time around the trucks.
I'll criticize anyone but RJ about saying driver at a motocross event.

I messaged the seller & forwarded to Ping yesterday. Would be cool to tidy it up, fit factory suspension and get Ping on it some day.

I’m interested in buying it. 5k is a little steep. Hopefully he will come down on the price and I can snag it.

What makes you sure that it has stock suspension?

To my memory, Showa didn't even offer A-Kit back in 2000.

Found a quote from Ping "I really liked my 2000 Suzuki RM125; it was light, fast, and easy to ride"

The forks and clamps definitely don’t appear to be the same as what came on the stock bike, and the team was running RG3 suspension so....

It may not be the same suspension that was on it when Pingree raced it, but it doesn’t look stock either.

Those are stock 49mm showa forks from the 250 that’s also a showa shock from the 250’s from back then. A kit back then was basically coated suzuki 49mm forks with aluminum spring tubes instead of plastic. The base and mid valves were slightly different. Shock body was sand cast but still used a 16mm shaft and a billet clevis. You could make all that stuff very close to a kit for the price of coatings. I had a bunch of this stuff from Rg3 a while back it’s pretty but nothing close to the standards passed 2006 showa stock stuff.
