Nope, 87 was drum rear/disk front. Owned one for a couple years.

is this the motor that ran like a open bike? was all midrange? ..i remember riding one, though it might have been an '86, and it had the strangest powerband for a 250. It would fall on it's face so early it seemed like something was wrong with it. It had gobs of power, you just had to shift it unnaturally early.

Mine wasn’t a good example (it was my second bike ever, and the PO abused the dog-doo our of it). That said, I remember it being like what you describe.
