Hey guys.. bought this 2005 CR250 For $500 bucks.. this is exactly how i bought it.. and its journey to a better life as my dream bike.. List: Polished frame/subframe/swingarm.. ported block.. blueprited/matched cylinder to engine cases and gaskets... smoothed out the transfer ports... Airstriker carb with jd jetting jet kit... proseal airbox seal... media blasted all cases, cylinder, head, brake calipers... Renthal windam bend twinwall handlebars... pro taper pillow top grips... Msr clutch perch with lever and otf... Tusk billet black gas top... Tusk billet wide footpegs...twin air filter... twin air billet air filter bolt... HRC red brake res caps/ axle blocks/ oil fill cap/ front brake line clevis/ rear brake clevis/ wheel spacers... pc billet throttel tube.. pc 304 silencer... fmf sst pipe... motion pro clutch/throttel cables... Galfer steel braided brake lines... ebc brake rotors... Hot rods crank... Wiseco prolite piston.. Full Hinson Clutch, pressure plate, hub, basket, springs, plates... so far
As you can see.. not much came on the bike.. missing seat, gas tank, radiators and hoses, the rectifier/regulator, rear fender... / parts no good: rear shock pitted, front fork tubes pitted, wheels were cracked, tires were shot... crank, all bearings and seals were shot.. top end was shot. So basically all i had to work with was the frame, front forks excluding the tubes.. the engine cases and gears.. Everything else is brand new or restored to better than new condition.. enjoy
The crank had seen better days..
Halfway through the polishing work.. (all by hand)
Did a slight porting job..
Frame/subframe/swingarm completed polishing
Various parts polished..
Parts media blasted..
bead blasted head, cylinder, cases..
back together she goes..
transfer ports done..
Blue Printed/ matched cases to cylinder gasket..
Getting there..
Just need the rear shock and wheels and i will post up when the bike is finished completley.. But the engine rebuild was a sucess.. did 3 heat cycles and everything is good..since it was my first rebuild.. im pretty excited! Check back in soon

Inspires me to do something remotely similar (very remotely )
After all, according to Honda your baby belongs in the 'old times moto' section.
Good work tho, looks so clean & mint.. Great choice of graphics.. shit looks fresh!
I like that it looks as if you gave it an updated look to resemble what a '11/'12 CR250 might have looked like.
I'm also particularly jealous that you scored your project for $500. I have also wanted to locate an '02-'05 era and trick it out.
I hate to admit it on a MX website, but I'd probably trick it out for some single track woods riding to try to give my riding buddy some competition against his totally decked out GNCC prepped YZ250!
Anyway- nice looking bike and a good job!
Pit Row
* Black rims would be the crowning touch....
Dude, have you ever ridden the 3rd generation honda r250? The motor was a little weak.. but with the work i did, im sure that problem is fixed.. also its one of the best handleing bikes ive ever ridden.. period. Honda wants you to believe, that they are " old time moto section" cause they dont produce them anymore and want people to buy expensive 4 strokes.. These bikes are incredible with a little work on the motor.
Yeah go for itt man.. these crs are incredible with alittle motor work.. best handleing bike ive ridden and gave me the most confidence.
seriously, attention to detail and polished/blasted parts is rad. A+for effort, A+rad for execution.
But really, I have to ask what's a wealthy chick pulling stud like yourself doing hanging out in a place like this???
