Think about it....99% of the people in this world don't have a clue about the physical demands of this sport. This could be the perfect time to educate them about how extremely difficult this sport is and the top condition a professional rider must be in to be a contender.
If this whole ordeal is even true someone needs to have a story ready that details how this is quite possibly the most physically demanding sport in the world. Said story should accompany the guilty rider's press release and be sent to ESPN at the minimum.
You know what they say "any publicity is good publicity". At least someone should do their best to make it good.

You're either into the sport or not.
It never ceases to amaze me how closed minded most of the Vitards tend to be.

The logic and excuse that to be competitive at the highest level in MX you need to use PED's isn't going to get people interested in the sport, and it's definitely not going to attract family's with young children.
If the AMA or any part of this sport (that I have loved and participated in most of my life) wanted to gain credibility, they would have already addressed it head on in one of a few ways like any legitimate sport would.
They could issue something to the effect of...1. We know there are rumors about a rider and drugs...blah blah..they are just rumors, blah blah, we're looking into why/how they got started....2. Insert rider name turned up a positive drug test result at blah blah and we have taken the following course of action because drugs are bad mmm,kay and we're dropping the hammer....3. A rider who we will not name at this time tested positive on a routine drug test and we are looking into it but we're not gonna really do anything because we deperately need the exposure this guy brings to the table and it was just this one time and he was under pressure and he thought it was aspirin and he's a real nice guy....
But they don't.....and they won't, so credibility.......not so much.
LOL! As I was typing this, the press release from Yosh/SUz dropped on TWMX. Way to stay ahead of it AMA.
Credibility as it pertains to the AMA......FastRich is correct. It's always been a joke.
In my opinion you want this sport to appeal to the most people possible.Marketing it as a great fun, family past time will go a lot further than pushing the line of "this is the most difficult and demanding sport in the history of man kind, and if you want proof of how hard it is, look our best and brighest stars need to take PED's to survive it!! wow arent we tough"
But what do i know, maybe we can be the one sport that keeps its credibility in tact in the face of a drugs scandal, god knows all the others have nearly been crippled by it at one time or another.
Could this PED ordeal ADHD credibility to MX?
