I looked at the heads. Sounds pretty sweet for only $975.....do they come with the valves?

I've hear very good things about their pistons. They do allow a little more oil through though so more for a closed circuit use than endurance.

Would imagine so, they've been involved in motorsprot racing for a long time.

I was told that Osborne`s Cosworth -Yamaha engines are being done at the same place as F1 engines.

Go get the DVD "Grand Prix" with James Garner (1966) Listening to the opening sequence will give you an idea of what Cosworth is all about.

We ran Cosworth in my Ktm's and they were excellent. I wouldnt say they lasted any longer than stock, but there was a definite improvement in power.

They have been on alot of Yamaha's over the last few years and have tested /raced very well. Alot of their work was done directly with Yamaha and as a result they could not advertise their involvment. The Brits make good parts and they do know how to increase power by optimizing the flow.

I got to peek at some really unique goodies they had at their booth at Indy a while back, including an F1 piston that was being well-hidden behind the counter.

Yeah, they're the real deal alright,I had a couple of Cosworth powered cars back in the lare 80's/early 90x's ,the Sierra RS Cosworth was enough to frighten supercars if tuned right, even almost standard they were about the quickest things around It's great to see them involved in MX,they must be pleased with Osbourne's performances,he's doing great!

A grand for a bare head? Add in a Pro Circuit cam, valves, springs, retainers....... and you've got a three or four thousand dollar cylinder head for a 250cc bike that will still make less power than a 250cc 2 stroke in stock form. Might as well throw in one of those $17,500.00 Pro Circuit cranks if it was for a Kawi. Wink

Mike (Cos)tin and Keith Duck(worth) started Cosworth in the late 50s and their 3 litre DFV V8 has the record in F1 victorys and the 1.6 litre 16 valve FVA from 1967 with geardriven camshafts and put out 235 HP at 9500 rpm and the sound was
ear candy but nothing compare to the BRM H16 engine.

Cosworth is one of the best high performance engine companies in the world. They have a very good heritage coming from the roots of formula one (they started in 1958).
