those are cool but imo, the only one that comes close (or equals) is the 2011 KTM 450SX

Comeon, dont put those ugly bikes next to the most beautiful era of Honda replicas....

Nothing else even comes close.

IMO, the only nice looking Honda's were/are the 2001 factory 250s of Lusk and Tortelli.

This has a lot to do with age. Hard to beat turn of the century (99,00,01) Pro Circuit Kawasaki 125s in my eyes. The Plano Honda bikes were great looking too with that flo red looking plastic and big yellow Plano across the shroud.

Hondas have always been pretty to me. I really like the way their current bike looks. The 2001 RM was about a billion times better looking than the 2000 when it came out. The late 70s elsinores are really good looking bikes and the 74 KX250 is also great looking.

She's a beauty, but the red on the frame is a little off, and how about we just update it by doing some blue ano (or blue wrap-around stickers for the exterior of the fork tubes), and skipping the gaitors? That'd also solve the Showa sticker issue. Smile

As long as we're nit-picking...Go with gray fork guards and brake cover...

It's a stunning bike.

I would probably ditch the fake fork boots if it was mine, but its still a beautiful bike.

And the number plate blue needs to be darker. Now that you mentioned the red of the frame, it looks really off...

Why the blue plate? Should be white or yellow with black numbers IMO if it's a replica. I agree the fork boots need to go.

Personally, I'd like to see it with a blue frame although that's not authentic.

Because it appears to be a Bailey replica from the year he won the Grand National Championship (overall points for SX & MX) and ran blue plates to differentiate him from Glover who had the #1 plate for 500 Nats. I do agree that they should be darker, though.

In no particular order

Mike Brown's PC KX125 in 2001

The early 00's Factory Suzukis

JS7 JGR....meow

Chad's Hondas. Always dialed.

Every 05-08 Honda with black rims and red plastic. That chassis/plastic had such great lines

If you read the original thread, they were using this bike as the model: (thats why no gold rims, white #1, forkboots etc)

Nit picking: the shade of blue on the plates needs some tweaking and i agree on the grey forkguards / disc cover.

It would be hard to beat Bailey's works 250 Honda with the leading link forks and full floating rear brake. Dont have a picture but I saw it at Mammoth back in 1982 or 83. It was a mechanical work of art. Everything from the hand welded chromoly frame, hand formed aluminum tank, sand cast magnesium cases to the billit forks. Those were the days, real hand crafted works bikes.

To me, this would be the best looking MX bike ever.

We're so used to seeing bikes with logos and graphics covering every bit of bodywork now. Its hard to design a new set of graphics and resist the urge to keep adding stuff. BUT those old Factory Hondas still look amazing. They're very minimal, maybe this should be the next direction for bike graphics?

I still think this bike was the coolest looking, if only because it never went into production
