Is the cooler race temps making the racing closer this year?

So many riders in both classes are able to go wide open all the way to the end of every moto.

This weekend it was just that riders couldn’t pass so there would be a log jam which looked cool on tv

I was thinking the same thing. As far as I'm concerned I'm good with a summer break every year Take it outdoors first weekend in August and run the next 12 weeks.

I don't think so necessarily.. I mean the majority guys train in FL and CA in the summer which both can be 100 degree weather or more. I think they are conditioned to race in the heat. If anything a cooler MX national may be a bigger adjustment. I don't think weather affects the top pros unless it's a dramatic drop or rise in temp within the weekend.. minus rain lol.

I don't know about the riders but it is much more enjoyable for the spectators. I was at the WW ranch national in FL. last year and it was too hot to stand in the sun all day. I said I would not go back if it was that hot again. Back in the '70's we had the fall Trans AMA series and the weather was great in the south but you might get snow flurries at Red Bud.

Of course it does, the guys train in Florida for a reason. 35 minutes when the heat index is over 100 with high humidity separates the men from the boys.

I think its valid that cooler racer equals close racing, it will be interesting when we do get a hotter race
