Okay, this is pretty cool to see a moto company (and their research partner) get some recognition from the NFL.

The team of Dynamic Research, Inc (DRI) of Torrance, CA and 6D Helmets LLC (6D) of Brea, CA will receive a grant award from the NFL’s Head Health Challenge III to assist with further development of Omni-Directional Suspension (ODS) for use in multi-impact helmets.

Thats great!

First off it means 6D is already doing something right when it comes to their helmet design. Second, what a moral boost to the people who put the work in to make the helmet. Third, they can use the grant money to make a great product better.

Imagine that, somebody like the NFL is trying to make our little sport safer.Smile

Hah, just the other day watching Football and hearing concussion talk...I wondered why something similar to 6D's approach hasn't been looked at. Guess now it is! Very cool!

I was just talking to my friend last week about the 6D technology and how it needed to be applied to multi-impact helmets! So glad to see this starting to become a reality, head injuries are a serious problem in many sports today.

I don't think the NFL is trying to improve moto helmets. It says multi impact helmets. As in football helmets. I'm sure the research will bleed over to moto though.

Big deal. Show is sponsored by Fly and JT is paid to flaunt the brand. I'm sure Bob Weber knew what he was doing and seemed to believe the 6D was a technology of its own. He definitely isn't concerned about it now!

That's great to see a company known to us motoheads make waves on a huge stage like that.
Looking at the other designs from the other companies selected with 6D, its cool to see there's ideas out there and people moving forward in helmet safety and design.

This is just amazing! New safety developments are happening grass roots in motocross and could hopefully have huge impacts in other areas as well! Very proud of 6D and happy to see them get the recognition they deserve! Keep it up!
