Awesome! It's great to read a positive off-road story in mainstream media.

Thanks, Guy. That's 15 minutes from my home town. Living in Florida now I doubt I would have seen it if you hadn't posted it up. Still get homesick after moving away 33 years ago.

Goat is a beast on a dirt bike. Enjoyed watching him fill in for Moates at the YROC race in 2002. Good times, good times....

Thanks for the heads up on that article Steve. It was a great read.

I've dealt with Charles Flemming on a few occasions and must say that it's great having somebody that is a true motorcycle enthusiast over at the LA Times. He's recently done stories on motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs and has always done a great job of portraying them in a positive light unlike most mainstream journalists these days.

My fav is when a bike was stolen from Perris while he was running GFI. Somehow he located the bike and the thugs trying to sell it. He went over, asked if he could take it for a test ride and stole the bike back lol...that's just awesome.

Thanks for posting this - Great article - yes nice to read positive mainstream stories about off-road adventure. Goat is a great dude, I have ridden out there several times for lunch on dirt and street. Glad to read the area is revived somewhat once again. Check out the "photos" link under all the pics in the article also....

Awesome story GOAT is the man!

We have rolled thru Randsberg a few times on our LA-Barstow to Vegas Rally and it was insane the amount of OHV's on Turkey w/e!

And yes it was before I had my Leatt. Laughing

GOOD TIMES!

I can't believe that I just read something positive about offroad riding in a mainstream publication.

A friend of mine and his brother raced the Nationals back when Goat was on top. He told me Goat helped them out a couple of times when they were down and out.

That's a great story. Looks like that trip may have to go on my bucket list.

Love this quote from Goat:

"I broke my hip. I broke my neck. I had a couple of surgeries," he recalls. "I was lucky I never had anything serious happen to me."

Spoken like a true dirt biker, huh?

Back in 77, Goat Breker flew around the Corona Friday night races and the Corona Grand Prix's on his Husqvarna.

"Goat for it"
