Team Yamaha has joined forces with Team Valli to support Christophe Pourcel. Additionally, Erik Kehoe will be the Valli team manager. Pourcel was at Glen Helen with the Yamaha squad. Christophe plans to race the 250 National on May 24.

This on the MXA Glen Helen Prep website.

Pourcel needs to hang it up. He's been gone too long to race over here.

this post isn't about Pourcel.

Congrats to Kehoe, glad to see him back in that type of position. IMO he's a good leader.

Still curious about Honda. And was wondering how long before someone scooped him up. Awesome.

I knew about Kehoe but was worried about Pourcel showing since nobody has seen him in a few months....now it gets interesting.

Exactly what I was thinking. He would bring another level or respect and tons of stability to that program.

Peter North returns! That's awesome. I thought Brooks was going to be the steady hand selected for this job. I hope they're in the mix this year.

Wow!

That's awesome for Valli, very cool, and what a year to do it, someone to really stick with Pourcel. His chances this outdoors just went up I think!

Pourcel will win , alot of races this yr , and is my favorite to win the title , strange how loads say s he ll never finish the series he is a quiter , when he only ever quit one series ever , unless he got injured , and remember alot of riders quite that yamaha 450 , the guy could nt walk for a yr nearly , came back and won a SX champ , first time out should have won the national s as well , but now his out for a yr and has been healthy for for a yr , loads of people say he cant come back and win , he is done ,

The market begs to differ - hence, Valli signing him. If factory teams listened to VitalMX, this sport would be fucked. CP in moto is good for the sport

Glad to hear Kehoe is involved, brings some legitimacy to it.

"Team Yamaha"? Who/what is that? I presume it just means Valli is getting support from Japan?

Never heard one derogatory thing about Kehoe about his tenure with Honda. He know how to run a competitive program. I believe Valli will benefit greatly from his management!

I heard it's factory effort. Not just support.

I guess CP is paid by Yamaha directly. It makes a little difference. I would also be surprised that it is a short term deal, maybe some discussions have already been made regarding 450 SX, anyway what do I know?

Otherwise, I am always happy to see some good news for CP and Yamaha, I have been a Yamaha fan since a long time (1994). Kehoe is a proven team manager, that helps when everything is clicking in the right direction.

Little bracket now for young american riders: try to go ASAP in Japan to win some races, I am sure it has helped a few riders in the past to get the factory support.

Always liked that Kehoe guy. Glad to see him back in the sport.

Always liked watching that Pourcel kid ride. Can't say I always liked his attitude. I probably lost something in translation.

see, I'm the opposite in a way. i know he has a weird personality but i gave him the benefit of the doubt back in the day and started to like his attitude. his interviews i feel like come out weird because he misses words just because he's not from here.

i honestly think he means well, attitude wise, i don't agree to what he did the last year he raced though, by just pulling off and quitting the season....

like i said before, i hope he comes out and stomps it, he's soooooo fluid on the bike.

I get your point, I was also surprised by his first interviews, he may have lost a few fans like that, "lost in translation" is the right term Smile I think he was much better in his second year so now I hope his English level is ok.
