Well deserved. I've never been a Tomac fan-boi.....but the dude is just unbelievable since his switch to the Blu-Cru.

I thought he was unbelievable even before the switch.

Seems like was a lot more of a mental rider on both the Honda & Kawasaki than he is on the Yamaha . I have no idea why…but he seems to have found a bike that he feels confident on, and a team that will help in his program.

In the 450’s, yes. When he rode for Geico Honda on the 250 he was “Beast Mode Lite.” I can remember watching him in Utah. That track was gnarly. No one had a chance of catching him. He put on some “Stewart’esc” performances outdoors.

I also remember him at the MXoN just crushing it until that finish line mishap, but he was literally passing people 2 and 3 at a time.

Well earned. He’s a line master. He’s as fit or more than any of his competitors. He doesn’t wreck and get hurt a lot. His technique is refined. His will to win is undeniable.

Exactly. Not that he wasn't great on those bikes too. ....but people seem to forget the Elito Mac days. Ripping one week...WTF next week.

He's showing much more personality these days too.

Well done, a main stream accolade.
I don't see it as really mainstream. Moto is not considered a motor sport? Same category as skateboarding and freestyle.
It's great that Eli is recognized.

Exactly. Freestyle is an action sport, MX/SX is a proper motorsport.

I can remember the exact corner I started to become an Eli fan, I think it was 2012 or 2013 Red Bud, in the off camber section. He came flying in what looked like way too fast for the corner, threw it into the rut, railing the outside at what seemed like impossible speed.

Before he injured his shoulders at Lakewood, he was crushing the guys in the 450 class on his Honda. Beat Dungey at Hangtown by a minute and a half.

I voted and I have zero clue as to who he was up against. Don’t know, don’t care. I scanned the QR code on my TV, clicked his name and skipped the rest. I wanted the greatest sport/athletes on earth to be represented.

There's no motorsport category, only best driver, we all know driving and riding aren't really the same thing. ESPN.com doesn't even have an article on Eli they can link to, that's why his name isn't blue, but he still won Cool
