A broken femur and he expects to be back for East coast SX and be competitive?? That's at a minimal 6month injury to be lucky to be back at normal condition/speed. Been there done that, broke my femur a couple inches above my knee cap so I know the realizations with this injury. Ima super huge fan tho and wish this kid all the best of luck!! He's really fast and can potentially make a name for himself if he gets past this

That's a bummer. 6 MONTHS?! Is it really that long? Didn't Herlings race like 2 weeks after breaking his femur some time ago? Not saying it was smart but i think he did that...

it all depends on the break and if they put a rod in it. a typical break without the rod will take longer than having the rod put in. I know people who were riding again in less than 8 weeks after having a rod put in.

did he snap it like most of you are thinking? if he only cracked(fractured) it, he could very well be back by east coast.

the mystery begins.. oh wait, this is vital, and some illogical comments will follow this one... lol

Best thing to do is sit out SX and try and come back for MX. No good can come from coming back to early and then have an ongoing nagging injury, or worse yet, break it again and then miss all of outdoors. Heal up, and hopefully be ready for outdoors. I would think SX is out of the question unless it is just a small crack perhaps.

I think people sometimes forget how tough these guys are. He'll be back, MX riders are made of rubber, what would normally take someone out for months heals in weeks for these guys.

He'll come back, and he'll continue his rise towards the top when he does

Breaking a femur is something else then arm, collarbone or foot. Ken De Dycker was out for 8 months. Luke Clout was out for about 3 months but is still searching for his best form. We all know what happened with Jeffrey Herlings he broke his femur in August and just made the first Grand Prix in February!

I really hope this won't be the case for Colt Nichols because he's a beast in Supercross, reminds me a bit of Jimmy Decotis. I only hope he can up his results in Outdoors.

I think Colt wouldve made great strides outdoors 2017, but that will probably be on homd because of the femur injury. Hopefully he doesnt rush it to make the east coast unless hes 100 percent. Does anyone know if he has a 1 yr or 2 yr deal? Even if he has a 1 yr deal, i think he'll get picked up by a solid team for 2018 even if he doesnt have that great of a year. He'll definitely be a darkhorse. Id like to see him on a PC bike.

I think Albertyn raced like 6-8 weeks after having a rod put in to repair his femur. He made the first outdoor in 2000 after breaking his femur toward the end on SX.

A fracture is the same as a break, different word. Fracture does not mean just a crack.
