Anyone know if the Colorado fires are anywhere close to the Tomac's property? Not sure how many miles away the fires are now.

I was wondering the same, and looked at a similar map and figured he’s good. Don’t know where he’s located exactly but Cortez is not that close.

The ranch is west of Cortez, not a lot of vegetation to burn out there.

I went to the mesa verde indian dwellings (in Cortez) about this time last year and I agree. But today Eli sent out an IG about his moms wine. That sure was a lot of green in that pic (nothing but dirt behind the grape vines though). They must have hauled in some prime dirt for those grape vines. I'm sure they can afford to do that.

There is a creek that runs through his property, and there is some vegetation and alfalfa fields along that creek. That might be the green you are seeing? Otherwise it's pretty sparse and I couldn't imagine a fire in that area.

I've never been to mesa verde but hear it is incredible.

They have a small river/large stream that runs through their property That they use to water the tracks and vegetation.. A fire shouldn’t be an issue for them

That whole area - and Mesa Verde can burn too... Ugly scene from back in 2000.

FYI, wildfires can jump rivers and roads.

Their property has a lot of defendable space around it and not a ton of fuel so I can’t imagine them losing anything.

Fires suck, Mesa Verde cool

The fires suck mentality is why we have such large fuel loads in the west. Fires are good for a healthy forest. Humans just decided to create a wildland/urban interface. What other natural disaster do we try to control?

I know fires are important and natural, I don't need the lesson...

Property may well stay safe, but air quality certainly could have him looking elsewhere

Eli's parents and the ranch is quit a bit a way from Eli's new home. The ranch and practice track is a long way aways from any current fire but Eli's new home is closer to the 416 and Burro fires but not enough to worry unless there is a major southwesterly wind event.

Air quality is probably an issue. It's smokey in Colorado Springs 5 hours away and he's 40 minutes away.

Winds mostly blow west to east so smoke should be blowing away from the ranch.
