I did!

But I’ve been where he is and didn’t quit riding!

I'm glad to hear that he is preparing to comeack. I was one of those who suspected that he would retire.

Well, Honda...

We're waiting.

Nobody ever told me, I found out for myself. You've got to believe in foolish miracles. It's not how you play the game, it's if you win or lose. You can choose. Don't confuse. Win or lose. It's up to you!

He should take this time off to eat a cheeseburger and bulk up just a little. Too skinny for a 4 fiddy. Meanwhile I'll have a Negra Modelo in my favorite Seely beer glass...wink

This is good news. Class act. He'd have two small bore titles if he knew how to block- ride aggressive IMO. He kinda reminds me of Hill, who by the way will podium this weekend.

This.

Seems that Honda, more so than other brands, has a habit of dropping very capable riders. Just in my riding span of HRC history: Doug Henry, Kevin Windham (first time round before his Suzuki days), RICKY CARMICHAEL...Here's hoping they learn from past mistakes and give CS14 another well-deserved shot

Except himself. He had thoughts about retiring. Literally.

After his horrific injury I definitely thought it was a possibility. IMO Cole Seely with Aldon and Decoster would be an awesome fit. KTM could really benefit by having him as their second guy. We know Cole can deliver podiums and occasional wins in SX and top 5's and occasional podiums outdoors.

Would like this better than rumours of Webb to KTM. Depends on Mr Honda as Cole seems a loyal type of kid.

Good Luck to Cole!!!!!

Do you guys think that cole can win a title?

I like him, and he´s a terrific rider but he either is anderson´s bitch or he crashes in the lead, im tired of seeing that, last season i was really rooting for him but always had a issue.

So here i am, to be honest i think that it would be best for HRC to drop Cole and Get Martin on the 450, but they do support their riders (ie. cannard) so it´s most likely that they will have Cole next rear.

|

Good for him. That said, more knowledge and perspective on life and racing seems like the opposite of what you need in order to keep up with the things the fastest guys do week in and week out.

Here's to feeling good all the time

No! I don’t think he is gonna be better and faster than he was. If that statement of his is accurate he will never lose any title from here on out because he was pretty close before the wreck. But you gotta love his positive attitude.

|

7/18/2018 9:53 AM

wish him well,

having him out is one reason the 450 class is so thin.

|

7/18/2018 10:09 AM

Just curious - is he back riding yet?

|

7/18/2018 10:23 AM

I'm so happy to read this! Cole is one of my favorite riders and i truly believe his words.

However, he REALLY needs to turn up that aggression knob if he wants to have the slightest chance at beating Anderson, Roczen, Tomac and such.

You've never been where he is. Quitting riding and quitting PRO racing are 2 different things. Still waiting for you post some vid's, specially the ones where you compare yourself to Cole. laughing

I think major events in someone's life have an impact. He's going to have a different perspective and will have grown as a human from all that he's dealt with. Now the question is, does that motivate him or snuff out the flame/steer his focus to new things? Based on his post, I'm going to say that it's motivating him. He sounds tired of being the doormat, making mistakes, and being a 2nd guy.

My guess is he follows a Windham type trajectory. He'll be more consistent, more fired up, and win some more but I doubt he gets a title. It's gonna be hard to beat the 3, 21, 25, AND 94 over the course of a series.
