In before the 3,000 Cobra 125 posts...

So on Vurb it said Cobra were thinking about dropping a 125?

And Cobra hinted maybe Luke Renzland, Husky 125 hero from this weekend at Unadilla, may be down for testing it?

Is this all for the lolz and it's gone over my head, or are they serious?

Excited to see it if it is real, I see a lot of guys have been desperate for a US made big bike.

Or I'm just an idiot missing the joke... which is totally, totally, possible.

I would think an 85 would be the first step, but a 125 would be cool.

If the 85 uses it's own cases/doesn't share the 65 cases...

That engine 'could' be a viable 125...see the KTM/Kawi 112s for reference...they run pretty damn good!

You would likely end up with a tougher 85/100/112 bottom-end AND a solid 125...IF you took the time in design and development.

I'm jus' sayin'...

I would sell both my bikes if I could get a Cobra 125 that looked like those 2021 Cobra SRX50 FWE

The TM 85 engine is allmost a 125 engine. cases and parts are mostly same general size.

So i don`t see why that couldn't be the case for Cobra too

Yeah, let's get an 85 and Supermini out there first... I'd love to see it though. Just take the time and do it right.

As it is, Cobra sells everything they can make, right? Seems the business model has potential.

For those that don’t remember - Sean Hilbert owned the REV! Motorcycle company prior to purchasing Cobra from Bud Maimone, they had a 250 smoker being developed based on the CR250 ( I believe)…..

I would love to see Cobra expand. I think they could start with an 85/112 and go from that point. After that, they could have a 125 frame that could fit a 250 motor as well.

A few people mentioned the E-5 competitor and existing unfulfilled orders of 50 / 65 models.

To give Cobra the benefit of the doubt, if they're struggling for materials and parts like other brands are, then planning for new models doesn't take effort away from the production of current models if that is already hindered. I understand it's frustrating for people waiting, but fair play to them for planning ahead and looking to the future.

Not to beat a dead horse, but this was the post, I should have added it in the first place for anyone interested.

They have been testing the electric bike locally around here. Part issues just like every other OEM are effecting sourcing. Also was mentioned a 85 and 125 is coming...

A USA built with global materials sounds great but in my opinion, those cobras are junk. I'm not sure about the 65's but next time you're at the track and see how many kids have 2 cobra's so that they have a backup. We have a Cobra 50 SR and a KTM mini and the fit and finish of the cobra is garbage compared to the KTM.

You have no idea what you’re talking. Most kids have 2 because one is stock and one is modded. Go to lorettas and I don’t think you’ll see very many KTM’s in the 50cc classes. All cobras pretty much.

No, I'm talking about 2 or more limited (stock) bikes. Only race I know of that modded 50's run on is mammoth but I'm sure there might be a few more I don't know about. A kid finishing 5th at a local race shouldn't need a backup bike because one will break.

I do agree about cobra's owning the 50 market though. I think the SR's are pretty close and maybe the P3 vs the Mini but the JR vs the Mini s no contest.

Back in the day I met a 50 dad who said he needed two Cobra 50s to give him time to service/maintain the clutch. By the time he got one buttoned up the other was having issues. He definitely said the performance of the Cobra vs the competition justified it though lol.

Got to be. I'm all for it, hence the interest in the story.

I wouldn't buy one myself due to shipping etc, but with how much America has done for moto and how big it is in the US, I think it'd be awesome for people to have a proper Made In America big bike available, not to mention for the youngsters coming up from Cobra minis.

If it's going to be the same quality and dealer network as their minicycles...don't bother. Those that have owned a Cobra will understand what I mean.
