Cleaning Goggle Foam

Edited Date/Time 4/19/2020 1:02am
Curious to how this could be handled. Would putting them in the washer sans lens destroy the foam?

In a bucket with warm soapy water. I would not put them in the washer.

I just put them in the washer, lens and all then air dry. Use the gentle cycle.

I pop the lenses out, but do all the same. Wash lenses separate in warm soapy water

warm water and dawn dish soap in the kitchen sink.

the dawn helps get all those skin oils out of the foam.

I throw my googles in an old pillowcase. Tie knot at top. Wash on gentle cycle. Dry under ceiling fan. Been doing this for years with great success.

Kindof the same as an air filter. Use soap and soak and squeeze in warm water

I just take the lenses out and take them in the shower. Use a little bit of shampoo. Do the same thing with helmet liners. Now air filters the washing machine works great on those...long as your wife doesn't catch you doing it.

I take the lenses out, and wash them handly in my shower. After, i spray them with compressor to let them dry up quickly.
No damage, been doin this once a month on my 2017 FOX AIR SPACE, and they are like brand new.
Same for my 100% Racecraft, which are one year old.

I use the washing machine on gentle and hang everything to dry with a fan on. I have a couple zip up laundry bags that I use, I put my goggles with the lens popped out in the laundry bag along with my helmet liner. It’s slightly harder on the gear than washing it by hand in the sink or bucket, but the convenience factor outweighs that for me.

I send all my stuff to England ... comes back really clean. A weird crust forms in shipping... must be some spray in customs.

I know someone that does the same but with a helmet bag instead. Personally, I wash them by hand with the lenses removed.

I just put them in the goggle bag, lens still installed, and wash them with my gear. I hang them to dry, works great.

I also remove the lens and wash them in the washer on the gentle cycle along with my helmet liner.
