Caught this on his insta. Supposedly he might be tagged for the Beta MXGP, per Gatedrop.com.
So that'll be three different red bikes from three manufacturers and they all look pretty similar.
The Shop
Other than a 19" rear wheel and the factory accessory muffler not much new to see. Let's assume they punched it out to a 450 and didn't leave it a 430?
"Now the more interesting rumours – who will race for the team? We believe that Jeremy Van Horebeek has tested the bike and has another test scheduled – it remains to be seen if he will sign with the team but it’s thought to be realistic at this stage."
same market of play or open vet class racer as the 300 2 strokes.
that said I also think the 290/293cc 2 strokes dont make ideal sense... a 330-360 would likely be the best In my eyes for that same purpose.
back to the 4t's.... beta makes the 390 & 430 bikes by playing the the bore-stroke ratios and getting totally difference riding characters out of the bikes. thats what id like to see for the lites bikes. I dont think there much to be had by going bigger than 450cc.
Pit Row
For a 300cc 4t motocrosser there’s already a great alternative in the TM.
Make it linear, smooth but with near 450 power levels and much lighter.
The 300 2 stroke I have is awesome, but for faster and fitter riders a 350 or maybe 370 2 stroke might really be a 450 alternative.
We just need some different CC bikes for new play bikes, vet riders, first riders, and just people bored or wtf to buy when they already have 2 or 4 bikes in the garage.
Either way its LOOONNNNGGGG overdue to get some new investments into the MX world. Seriously.... NOTHING has changed at all since 2004 when 4 strokes took over.... no real changes just refinements
About that jump in the video, it is a jump to flat so using most of the travel is normal, and it is just testing.
In the fuzzy photo of the bike being ridden the exhaust header appears to be be very long , so it's obvious there must be some serious internal changes. I have a hard time understanding the negative reaction by some to Beta making a commitment to go MXGP racing. They pound on Suzuki for pulling out and pound on Beta for jumping in, WTF. What are you afraid of, more riders at the gate, more interest from casual fans? The fact that Beta is willing to invest the time ,effort, and money in this project should be applauded. Will they win soon, probably not, can they battle for 10th, absolutely, will that be enough to get people to open their wallets and by a new RX, we'll see. But I will tell you this, I have a new 300RX on the way and a 450RX in the oven, Ciao.
Longer clips
Sorry if truth did hurt your Beta feelings.
