He deserves some props though, he hopped on a 450 and finished 2nd at the NGPC race in Utah this weekend, he led for over an hour but Dante Oliviera was able to get by him at the end to take the win.

3rd place was Cole Martinez.

Pretty legit for a kid his age to run with those dudes. SX futures one weekend, off road the next. I like this kid.

Chance has been doing WORCS, Big6, and other off-road races for a few years now. Developing some well rounded skills. Great kid, great family, solid plan and development before making the big plunge to pro moto.

Yes sir.

Little bit like another guy who's had a good career to date...ET3. Eli used to throw down lap times equal to top A riders while on an 85 at WORCS races.

Really encouraging to see a future SX kid being at off road races. Although NGPC/WORCS races are more of a modified longer motocross style race these days, a hour and a half at race pace isn't easy. That type of racing and conditioning should really help as he transitions into pro moto.

Another recent pro who routinely raced off road and did very well in SX/MX is Zach Osbourne.

Would be cool to see more moto guys get into offroad for cross training.

Love the attitude of more gate drops/races/competition the better. Pleasant change from the training facility standard of limited race schedule

I was there with my buddy who was racing this class and chance was damn impressive. Was my first off road race and those guys at the front blew my mind with their speed at the end!!! Congrats to all the racers who went an 1.5hrs on a gnarly track and some good heat too. Bad dudes for sure

I almost feel like GNCC type racing is a good place to start kids that are serious about racing. No big jumps to be intimidated by and less chance for getting hurt by jumping. Just focus on technique, endurance and speed.

I seriously think Chance Hymas can be one of the greats of the sport, RC, James, McGrath level success. Like ML said, he comes from an off-road background so he has strong endurance which will come in handy outdoors (a lot of amateurs are used to short sprint motos, Hymas is familiar with long motos). I was impressed by his raw speed at the Cal Classic when he checked out by 30 seconds over DiFrancesco, then seeing what he's done in futures and how good his technique is on a supercross track really has me feeling like he's going to be the highest achieving amateur coming into the pro ranks, more than Ryder D, Deegan, Ferry, and everyone else.

Humble kid from a good family, seems like he doesn't care about the social media clout, just wants to win.

Chance rode phenomenal as was impressive in person, ripped a great start and pulled a large gap (18+ seconds) within a few laps on one hell of a course that had a bit of everything. He looked awesome and held onto the lead for 68+ minutes of the 90+ minute race, it was a shocker to see him hold off Dante and the big boys for that duration at a crazy fast pace up front. Impressive to say the least. The race was well worth the travel, and it again was great to see Chance continue to blossom in the flesh!
