I think he is referring to the US OPEN..right????

I think in 98...the 1st year of the Open that is how Huffman won too....I think he finished 2nd each night but it gave him the overall....Robbie won the 1st night and then I think McGrath won night two...I could be totally off on this..cause I am going off of memory on who won night two.

OK my bad..I was just thinking you meant the Open, since we were all watching it...hahaha Consistancy has ALWAYS been key to winning a championship of any kind...Wins are big...but in the end you need to be up ther EVERY weekend.

But yes Robbie won night one...and slapped his shoulder on the 1st turn pole on the inside of the corner... dislocating it and doing nerve damage the 2nd night....

I think Lanston won the 125MX title in '03 with KTM after a total of 11 races instead of the scheduled 12. Steel City was postponed because of flooding, rescheduled, it flooded again and finally cancelled.

Stewart missed the first 3 nationals, then went undefeated in the next 8. The first 3 O/A's were, I believe won by Mike Brown and Ryan Hughes. Langston didn't win an O/A that season.

That was the year that Josh Coppins had a lead of 107 points, more than 2 rounds, and then flew into a fencepost when he lost his rear brake, ruining his shoulder and eventually his championship bid. I was so pissed.
