Couple examples of why Chad Reed has inspired myself and probably others

Thor movie Relish- Reeds first race against Ricky at the US Open. At the end reedy says "if he can bleed he's human, and I can beat him" Unbelievable quote

After all the times he got beat down by RC or JS7 he went on the podium and talked about how the bike wasn't quite right, even though he was getting smoked some weekends he never gave up hope that he could beat them

Going in to 2011 no factory teams would hire him. He said "if you're going to bet on somebody bet on yourself because you have full control of what happens" I absolute love that line

Cheers Reedy, miss ya bud!

I made this back in the day, when Mike Fisher was telling everybody he was done. Nobody could keep up with a motivated Reed when he had something to prove.

In 2011 he obviously proved his worth already, but getting up after that Millville crash showed how much of a champion this guy was.

Even though he didn’t have any more championships anymore, his determination was always there.

After Chad dug deep (mentally and in his wallet) started a team and kicked ass it was like he entered his second prime. The dude was hauling ass in ‘11 and ‘12, ‘13 he struggled with the new Honda but ‘14 he got on the Kawi and was hauling ass again going for wins until he wadded it.

Crazy but the guy’s determination alone in my opinion extended his prime by about 4-5 years.

I have so much respect for chad. The physical and mental demands of one year in this sport at his level would annihilate most humans. What he did is unbelievable. I bet he has racked up the most supercross points of any racer.

Anyways, if there’s one thing I wish he would have done differently is not let his emotional highs get too high. You could definitely tell when he was switched “110%” and it seems like those were the times when he had wrecks that kept him from more titles. I hated seeing him get hurt when he had what it took to get another title.
