Chad really needs a win in Atlanta to turn his season around. Anyone else agree?

Emig said hes had to win in Phoenix.

Matthes said he needs to turn it up in San Francisco.

Vital poll says its a long season...he can finish second...and wait for Stewart to make a mistake.

Bro, Stewart is winning all the races, and if he didnt tangle with Reed in the first round, he would have a perfect season.
Reed will probably take 2nd for the remaining rounds...MAYBE. I think we will see a different 3rd place every round, but I would like to see Josh Grant take as many 2nd's & 3rd's as possible... a couple seconds would be a bonus.

Bra,

Vital members will remind you it's a long season and Stewart could have trouble starting the bike again and earning another DNF.

If Reed wins the championship with second place finishes it will be an empty championship because he never once showed he was faster than Stewart.

I just want to see a battle for the win. I don't care who wins, I just want to see a battle. A1 was one of the most exciting races in a long time....before the crash.

You wont be seeing that battle again. Reed came into A1 in mid season form, Stewart came in a little rusty and untested at that level. It is obvious that as he got himself and the bike in shape, he is now unbeatable.
On the bright side... I think we are going to be in for some serious battles for 2nd and 3rd for the rest of the season. Between Grand, Reed, Short, Poto and a few little surprises along the way.

I'd love to see Reed put more pressure on Stewart. In the past, Reed has been stronger late in the season. Maybe we'll see him put on a charge in the east rounds.

Realistically, I think the only way Reed can win a few races is if he drops Bubba in the first turn. I wonder how bad he wants it?

Right now, your last statement is true. If he gets to a point where he is 10 or more points down then he will have to really try to push it, but right now he's still in good shape. That's just MHO.

Aren't all the races "Must Win"?

This is turning into a weekly post. Maybe GuyB should just stick it so no news need to be started. Reed needs to win every week but that ain't gonna happen!!!

All I know is I paid good money for 7 tickets to Atlanta, taking my family, hope there is some good racing and NOT a run-away win. Congrats to Stewie for his speed but someone needs to step up to the challenge and make the racing more interested or the mainstream public will get bored and find other things to do. Me, been around the MX/SX scene long enough to watch the action back in the pack, usually more fun if there is a run-away leader. Some of the privateers that make the night shows deserve more respect for all their efforts.

MOTO459: the race your looking to see will be for 2nd or 3rd or even further back. Noone can touch O'Bubba...You heard him on the podium "My gear looks good, my bike looks good, ITS ALLL GOOD"!! thats not what the other 19 guys need, a well-dressed lookin black-man, whoopin' ass..

its gonna be a long season from here on out if your name is'nt James Bon Jovi..

Reedy's about to start losing that 2nd step on the box for sure...Poto, J. Grant, Shorty & "Saps all smell blood...it also can be seen on the backrounds of the #1 suzook...

I would love to see Reed challenge Stewart for one lap at Atlanta because that would give the Reed fans something to believe in.

Poto will finish 2nd in Atlanta, you heard it here first.

Excuse me, got a little confused, maybe it was me who was over stimulated today by the stimulus package.

Reed is usually pretty good at Atlanta. Hopefully he finds a little something, or at least JS could have the common courtesy to get a bad start.

I think San Diego put the "Reed just needs a good start" question to rest... I'd be shocked if he can hang with Stewart for any of the remaining rounds.

Actually, the rest of the rounds are more Stewart's style - he does better on softer dirt. So instead of being 1 second faster than Reed, he'll be 1 1/2 seconds faster.

If Stewart can avoid a DNF the rest of the way, he wins. Reed will undoubtedly win a race or three, but he's done for the title unless James DNFs somewhere along the line. To that extent, Atlanta isn't any more of a must-win than any other. The "must-wins" up to now have been wins Reed needed to make James try harder and take more chances. Too late for that now. Reed didn't win any of the must-wins.

I'd be more stoked on Chad if he would over cook a corner or swap in the whoops once in a while. Then I'd be sold on the "I'm leaving it all on the table," rhetoric.

Atlanta may be Reed's night...I just think it is in the cards.

I don't wish anything bad for anybody, I just say it could be CR's night this Saturday.

After watching James the last couple of weeks, the only hope Chad has at winning is if James puts in on the ground.

I like Chad (never met him) but right now he isn't close to James speed. I do think others are gaining on Chad right now so he needs to step it up.

Look for Grant to finish back on the podium this week in the ATL.

Um yeah I don't know what you have been watching so far but the only race is 3rd on back, James usually wins by 20+ seconds then Reed who gets 2nd is 5-10 seconds ahead then the close racing starts with 3rd on back. James and Chad get 1st & 2nd quite comfortably.

Sondy... 20+ seconds? Which race did that happen in? Ahhh.. the ever present stretching of the truth that continually presents itself on this site. Agree that JS and CR get 1 & 2 comfortably. :o)

To say that CR does not have JS speed is inconsistent with the facts. Pull up the lap times of each of the races and you will see the CR has JS speed and in fact had faster lap times in three of the seven.

The main thing is that when James is "completely on"... there really is no one on the planet that can race him for 20 laps. I am a big Chad fan and a not-so-big fan of Bubba, but the facts are the facts... Reedy has Bubba's speed this year and if he would put in a complete 20 laps I think we would see pre-crash A1 and Phoenix racing and US Open for the rest of the series. Can only hope reedy steps it up and pushes to challenge the way he did in LV, A1 and Phnx. But then again... what the hell do I know!!!
