Although not "officially announced" Chad has agreed to terms with JGR for 2020 and yes this WILL be Chad's final go around on two wheels. BTW say hello to DW15 at JGR for 2020 also!

Only according to the fans, he never said he was going to retire any of those years.
I do expect 2020 SX to be his last full season though. Even if, or when, Reed does announce that, I wouldn't be surprised if he pops up at an individual race here and there during his 'retirement'. It's cool that he still loves to race.

They burnt out, Chad didnt.
RD and RV spent their title years grinding it out 7 days a week. Chad spent his title years partying and living the lifestyle, mopping the floor with pretty much everyone then jumping on a private jet.

Racing is fun, if you're as fast as Chad the only place to do it to your potential is on a Saturday night in Anaheim. For us regular folk we do it in a random paddock against a bunch of other overweight slow neverwas blokes

How much did you earn for 5 months work this year? And is your job also your life passion? Can you afford to go on holidays for months at a time with your family?

Newsflash: None of the Pros would ride for free. Chad however, (presumably) understands that whilst he's not a Championship caliber rider anymore, he is still a big draw card. Hence, he can still pull a reasonable income whilst doing what he still loves to do.

Sounds like a no brainer to me.

Pretty sure his last contract with factory Yamaha paid 150k which for someone like chad reed. That is basically riding for free.
