Half of these complaints today wouldn't even be an issue if 1) people still worked on their own bikes & 2) didn't expect the OEM to be liable for everything that fails on a race bike.

Call me crazy but when something breaks you nut up and fix it yourself and consider it a cost of the hobby UNLESS you can easily convince the dealer there was a manufacturing defect, which is rare.

in 2001, I had a crank pin break on a cr250. Had only ridden it 6-10 times? thought it was crazy and let my buddy know who owned the dealership. He said sorry, its a dirt bike. Service manager called honda, and they said check for cracks inside cases. I didn't notice anything unusual, but they put new cases, and bottom end in. totally free, on Honda. later on, I found out the local dealers were tearing the showroom bikes apart and replacing cases. Mechanics were pissed as they were only getting 2 hrs pay to do it, or something like that. I was pretty impressed by honda.
I'm surprised that 2001 CR250 engine is the best ever IMOP

I bought a 2017 honda 450r paid in cash on April 24th 2017. Additionally I purchased 3 year service warranty through Pro CALIBER MOTOR SPORTS Bend. I rode the bike 2 twice and Henderson Flat and Clone Butte. After less than 6 hours the engine siezed and kick starter would not budge. I drained the engine oil that night and found metal fillings. I have now been waiting 7 weeks for a bike. I've been told it's the clutch, parts are on backorder until tge end of June. Today I met with Brian the gm and all he did was give me an 800 number to Honda customer service. Wish i would have spent my hard earned money in a better bike and a dealer that values their customers.
That's what you get for buying Honda

And this is why I always wait for the second year of a new model so they can work the bugs out.

No people names, no dealer names, no pictures, just hearsay and a first post.

Makuta the one that had his race engine lock up & his practice bike. Well it bit him again, he rebuilt the practice bike as Honda has other other low hour one.

Rebuilt crank, piston etcc basically everything. Broke it in & didn't even make it 5 minutes at southwick until it locked again

My 2016 250sxf had a failed fuel pump first ride. 2nd ride I got a call from the dealership, while at the track, saying the front spokes had been recalled...and I just took it in again for ANOTHER recall that I dont even remember just take it I said.

Ktm has more probelms than honda does lmao. It takss months for ANY oem of anything to fix shit. I dont care if its ford or nvidia computer parts. Every brand has faulty parts.. youre just the unlucky one this time.
You're nuts and when they do have a problem they fix it fast.

Hate shit like this.

Friend bought a brand new 96 kx 250. picked her up from the dealer and it had a full tank of premix in her and the filter was all oiled up.

We went riding the next day. He warmed her up right we went down the little trail to the track about 1/2 mile. He hit the first turn and the bike stalled. piston seized.

Took her to the dealer that day. They ripped the top end apart and it looked like someone drug the piston on a grinder.

Dealership put a brand new top end in her at no cost and gave the guy a case of oil as an apology.

Seems like those days are over??
