My favorite car of all time...the Original AC-Shelby Cars from the early 60's...small or big block...they're the coolest cars. Ever.

Funnything...the car in the Original Post isn't one of Caroll's...the Old Man woulda lafffed about it. Happens all the time.

RIP ya old "Chicken Farmer".

89 yrs. He lived a great long life. Left a mark forever. I hope we all live even longer with good health intact.

He was my hero as a kid and always has been. Wish the wife would let me purchase a new Mustang Shelby but she doesn't believe me when I tell her I would store it and it's a great investment.

Nice, Roadsters, Coupes, 'Stangs...hell...it's all good.

It's a legacy of driving like a mad-man with your hair on fire & making a production car completely INSANE...be it a Ford or a Chrysler.

I was deeply saddened by the news of Mr. Shelby passing.

My girlfriend had the most amazing experience with him in February 2010 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. She test drove a 2011 Shelby GT350 (1 of 2 at that time) around the speedway with Mr. Shelby riding shotgun! At 140mph, riding with someone he'd never met, my girlfriend said he was leaned back in his passenger seat, as cool and relaxed as could be.

Carroll ended up giving my girlfriend the nickname "Lightning," which he used to address her throughout the race weekend. To this day, it's one of the best experiences she's had in her life. An incredible honor to meet such an amazing man.

Godspeed, Mr. Shelby.

met him a few times , good guy , very direct. we supplied him engine parts for years. godspeed carol , the price of you cars just jumped up a bit. wish we kept that roadster ..
