Amazing. I imagine he's doing it for PR and fun...but you have to love a 40yr.old guy like RC, who some talk crap about being overweight still being able to qualify 8th in a bunch of lean, fast & fit young bucks! Wink

Once you pass 31, you're 40 untill you turn 60.

That's awesome. Hope he races. After all the trophy is called the Ricky Carmichael Cup and he has never raced or won a single Arenacross in the history of the sport.

He wants to race Supercross again, so he needs to take his own road back. Grinning

I won't name names but there was a guy around these parts who's nickname was the "flying fat man". He schooled everyone for a long time. Gifford knows who I'm talking about. Skill ain't got no weight limit.

I wouldn't be surprised if he could qualify for an arenacross in another 10 years. I believe with his talent alone he could ride around at 75% and do well. And not get too tired. Fast guys don't forget how to go really fast, they just lose some "drive" when they get older. Look at RC now when he lines up for timed qualifying, not that far off the top guys, for a couple of laps.

He's done it the last couple years...just goes out and rides qualifying at an AX race. You won't see him as part of the night show.

He qualified ahead of a multi-time supercross and motocross champion down at 8th and 9th...... Must be some crazy fast guys to push RC down that far.

Ricky is practically on a bone-stock 250F... I think he's touched a 250F about four times in his whole life... Laughing

Does anybody have the scoop on Stroupe ? Someone said he was working on a deal and missed the last race. Maybe a East Coast SX ride ?

I don't think so. He was on Pulp, I think, and said he showed up a few weekends because he got the invite. He made it sound like he wanted to put a full AX schedule together with someone but admitted that he wasn't there yet physically, even for AX. And admitted that AX is no joke. It sounded like he'd like to get back to SX someday but AX is his goal for now. Pretty sure he's just not able to get a complete ride in AX. Season's already on and he's not exactly ready so it's probably a tough sell. I hope he gets it done though.

I just think Its unbelievable that RC can still ride at the level he does! He's definitely the GOAT!

Haha, the road is such a shitty plan! Can't stand Carmichael and his fat greedy face. Loved him as a racer, but as a person.... When you have issues with that many people, maybe you are the problem. I wish he would stop squeezing every last drop of money out of his fame and truly help the sport or go away!

He can ride. No doubt about that, but in business he can't see the big picture. He only worries about his own personal bottom line period!
