Hey all, updating for mom.

Trey did have the cover in his wheel which kept him from gaining enough momentum to jump the triple (he didn't know about it). And Morais had no where to go.

Right now Trey is awake and moving feet, toes, etc. He even fist bumped me. He remembers most of what happened earlier and even where he lined up. He was out for a bit (you can see where the tire hit him on the helmet) but seems okay. They are checking him out for a pain in his back right now so we should know soon. Seems like he was thinking it was disappearing.

As for Morais he seems better too. Apart from a jaw that is broken (could be worse). I have not heard anything else from
them as of now. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and well wishes.

Aaron Canard
Thank you for letting us know how he is doing...
So glad he is ok and doing well...
Get better soon Canard !!!

Hope Morais will be ok too......

I hope Trey finds the fog lift from the mountain he's been climbing, that he can make sense of the path he's on.
I'm praying for that, but a good recovery first for both of them.

Here's a decent view:

I truly wish the best for Ryan and Trey and hope none of the injuries are too serious.

God Bless these two guys. Literally breaking their necks entertaining us mere mortals. Like everyone else I'm particularly upset about Canard's injuries.

Two seasons ago when I watched Canard turn laps I thought to myself: 'there is the next big thing in SX right there. Not just one of the fast guys, but a dominator." I'm afraid we will never see his full potential due to injuries and the mental side just wearing on him. I hope I'm wrong.

Get well fellas, and remember, being a Pro MX rider still beats any other job, casts and all!

From Momma C: Finally gone to MRI. @jimmy button says this is a great spine hospital, so that's good enough for me.

Fukk I was hoping things were going to be ok by the early reports at the track. Didn't MC fracture one of the bones in his neck/back at his own race and didn't know it till later after getting scans?

My heart goes out to both. So sad, and i feel genuinely concerned, as if I knew them. Trey just can't catch a positive break, and it's a sad story for sure. Wouldn't normally, but I am certainly doing so now; praying for Trey and Ryan.

he has broken bones in his lower/mid back. my guess is he will be in one of those corsett looking braces for a little bit, after some surgery.

I just posted this in a different thread:

Seeing that he has full movement, that is about as good news as you can get at this time! In most cases if there is any nerve / cord damage, swelling occurs and movement is impaired. That doesnt sound like the case here with Trey, Thank God.

Seeing as how Canard was injuries in the middle of his spine, paired with seeking the impact on CBS....I have to think to myself "what if he were wearing is customary hard chest protector"
1/22/2012 12:27pm
Chest protectors are for roost protection and even say on the inside of them "not intended to protect in the event of impact"

i would have to say probably nothing would have saved his back from a 240lb yz450f hitting him from 30 feet in the air, with a 160lb kid on the back of it.

Torrance, CA: Team Honda Muscle Milk rider Trey Canard was involved in a crash on the opening lap of last night’s Supercross event at Dodger Stadium. Canard injured his back in the incident, and an MRI this morning showed fractures the doctors are evaluating. Canard has 100-percent feeling in his legs, and is currently (Sunday) awaiting the decision by his doctors as to whether or not his injury requires surgery.

American Honda will release additional news on Canard’s condition as it becomes available.
