Canard and Morais Injury Updates

1/22/2012 12:25am Edited Date/Time 1/27/2012 7:38pm
Hey all, updating for mom.

Trey did have the cover in his wheel which kept him from gaining enough momentum to jump the triple (he didn't know about it). And Morais had no where to go.

Right now Trey is awake and moving feet, toes, etc. He even fist bumped me. He remembers most of what happened earlier and even where he lined up. He was out for a bit (you can see where the tire hit him on the helmet) but seems okay. They are checking him out for a pain in his back right now so we should know soon. Seems like he was thinking it was disappearing.

As for Morais he seems better too. Apart from a jaw that is broken (could be worse). I have not heard anything else from
them as of now. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and well wishes.

Thanks Aaron, that was a very scary time for those of us that were only relying on twitter updates, the msgs of "Trey has not moved in a long time!" had me really freaking out, as someone who has a SCI, i couldnt help but have nightmares and flashbacks to my accident.

Glad things are looking better that what was going through or minds here on the board.

Wishing your bro (and entire family that i have grown to love so much!) all the best!!

Glad to hear this news. While people around me were for the most part standing trying to get a free t-shirt, I was standing just staring at the area of the track where they went down, looking for any sign of movement. The Canard deal was very scary because it seemed like there was no movement for a good 5 minutes or longer (we obviously couldn't tell for sure though).

Just glad to hear they're both ok and in a lot better shape than I even expected.

Really bummed out for those two guys. I am a big fan of Trey and Ryan. That was scary just watching and waiting for what seemed like a really long time. I really thought Ryan might be going for a top ten tonight and Trey was going to be solid for sure. Get well soon guys.

I was doing the same thing in our section. We were in the rider's section so it was hard to see over to the other side to really see what was going on.

Very glad they are both ok as it looked really bad.

Update: mo is hanging in there... Neck has three fractures but docs says no surgery needed on neck right now! Getting MRI to make sure

Hoping and praying for the best for all concerned. I was lucky enough to get by after injuries in the T10-12 area, although I hurt like a mofo now that I'm an old man. Hang in there guys and families.

Hope he and Ryan get well soon, sickening crash. Feel so bad for Trey, that is too many big injuries in such a short time.

oh shit that really sucks!! The 'surgery tonight' is a bit worrisome, hopefully it's got more to do with the fact they can right away instead of they have to right away... here's hoping for the best and full recoveries in both camps

all the injuries trey has had to deal with lately just makes no sense.. just so unfortunate

my thoughts are with them and their families heavy deal all round
