Canadian rider #653 Mike Beaudin had a horrible crash over the finish line jump during the MX2/250 qualifying at Gopher Dunes. He came up short and got bucked off landing on his head. The medics stabilized him and he was shipped off to the hospital in London, Ontario.

He's already had back surgery where they put a few rods and 10 screws. It looks and sounds like the surgery went well but the prognosis so far is not looking great as he's got no feeling from the waist down.

Sounds very brutal. I hope Mike heals up nice and good. Here is to a speedy recovery , and get well soon Mike. Love this sport , but damn , the injuries are the worst part of it by a long shot.

Any updates? God I do not like hearing about SC injuries. Hopefully they find a cure soon.

Update on Mikey: He has been moved to the Rehab side of the General Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is currently receiving 2 sessions a day, teaching him how to get around and improve strength and balance. They have him doing wheelies in the chair as this is a key element to learn. Everyday he is making great progress accomplishing his goals and the goals set out for him.
