Canadian Nationals - Round 9 - Deschambault

This week the series returns to "La Belle Province" in Deschambault, Quebec for round 9 of the Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals. The Motocross Deschambault facility is one of if not the best on the Canadian circuit. The crew at Deschambault expanded the track last year by adding a new section with a steep drop off that makes it a great viewing spot for the spectators. The track provides some elevation changes, big jumps and soft loamy sand based soil. Watch for a few of the local Quebec riders to shine at this round.

Also, It was originally said that the Junk Yard Dog himself John Dowd was going to strap the boots for this race but looks like it'll only be his son Ryan.

Coming into round 9 with the red plate and a 46 point lead on Ryan Surratt things are looking pretty good for Shawn Maffenbeier in the MX2/250. You never know how things will go in motocross but you can pretty much crown Maffenbeier as the 2017 MX2/250 champion. All he needs to do is ride safe and stay on two wheels to claim his first pro championship. In the MX1/450 class there's only 4 moto's left for Christophe Pourcel to make things happen for the title. He's currently 19 points down on Goerke and with the way Matt Goerke has been riding all season even if Pourcel was to sweep the remaining moto's he would still have and hope for a mechanical on Goerke's part in order to claim the championship as I don't see Matt finishing off the podium at the remaining 2 rounds.
