Bummer to see him go, but there can't be much money in it.

Didn't a severe crash last year leave him with some sort of permanent damage?

I always rooted for the guy.

If Facciotti decides to hang it up at the end of the year it's really going to suck for Canadian moto.

Wow, did not expect that. Last couple of injuries must really have taken their toll on him.

Gotta think that opens up a 450 ride at KTM alongside Thompson.. maybe opening the door for Tickle?

Don't think so lol. But now I can really see Wright and Maffenbeier moving up to the 450 class. Won't leave much competition for Pettis in the 250 class if that happens unless Joey Crown comes back.

Canada doesn't pay like the States but it pays more than what a lot of people think it does.

Especially for the top few factory guys. I'd guess a couple hundred grand for a guy like Colt/Kaven.

Wow. That is crap news. Kaven is such a talented rider. I wonder if injuries have prematurely halted his career?

Wow that sucks man. I really started paying attention to Canadian moto again in the Kaven Benoit on a 250 2 stroke and Jimmy Decotis year. Couple years ago i realized Dean Wilson rode and tried finding as many youtube videos of that haha. The JSR days were one of my favourites.

Out of curiosity, what kind of figures are we talking here?

Its not bad, but Matthes makes it sound like the top guys arent making much at all. Anyone have any real figures?

Man , this sucks to hear. Dude was so freakin' fast and cool to watch him out on the tracks. Is this because of some sort of lingering injury?

Gavin Faith came up to race the Future West AX series and with salary and bonuses he made close to 100k.

Over the years injuries have taken a toll on the guy but I don't think that's why he retired. He's been at it a long and I think he just wants to move on with life. Start a family, that kind of thing.

I just thought I'd see him win a few 450 titles before he called it quits.

Damn.... That really sucks to hear. Didn't realize he was my age. I thought he was a few years younger. Bummer to see him retire.

He's been around forever but got much faster after he turned 22-23...
Never tought he would retire. Had a few bad rounds this summer but he was in the hunt for the title. He just broke his thumb which shouldn't be that big of a deal but he's had other bad inuries on the 450.

I believe he has a top 10 or 11 in an AMA national...did amazing at the MXoN before. Its really weird that he's retiring before Facciotti and Medaglia since he's only been riding the 450 for 3 years. I wish him the best in his new life!

Im really surprised, thought he had it in him to win a 450 title, like he was on the rise still and getting better.

Quite a shocker, and a shame for Canadian moto, given his competitive level. He didn't have the year he wanted but was still on fire at plenty of the rounds.

I would imagine he is not overly fond of the direction Jetwerx is taking things, as he has a general disdain for indoor races.

Always thought he should have tried to make something happen for the GPs. Would suit his style very well.

Wouldn't be shocked to see some type of return down the line. Glad I got to see him ride.

Really surprised to hear this news.

I thought he was only beginning to make his mark in the 450 class. He has the potential to be the best in Canada if he stays injury free.

Hope he’s happy and healthy, there’s more to life than mx.
