Our 2 time and defending 450 MX champion is heading over to Europe to race the remaining 5 rounds in Italy. He'll be racing his own Honda Canada GDR Fox Racing bike and pitting with the 114 Motorsports Team.

Interview

French Interview

I'm personally looking forward to seeing what he can do on the big stage. His goal for the first couple of races is to get comfortable in the new environment and to be around the top 10 and then try and break into it for the remaining rounds.

Let's go Dylan, t'es capable!

That’s really nice! He looked good at the MXDN. Wonder where he will stack up in the full field.

Bilingual. His first language is English. I know his dad is English and I'm pretty certain his mom is French. I think he went to a French school as well.

He now lives in Quebec with his fiancé.

So stoked for Dylan. This is another opportunity to show what he can do in really fast company.

Mav, what happened to Dylan in the race where he got 32nd? (at MXON)

Hopefully being bilingual will open more doors for him and we will see him race the full GP season in the future.

Some guy tangled with him and went down. Worked his way up to mid pack or so from dead last and then fell again. Also made a pit stop for goggles and gloves and that was pretty much it after that.

As they say, that's racing.

This is pretty cool, hopefully he's able to adjust quicker since he is riding his own bike.

Would be cool to see a Canuck take on the GPs full time!

Thanks! I knew I could count on a proper explanation from My Canadian Moto Info Source!

All set to go. Running the 109 just like at the MXdN.

This is awesome. It's a shame an AMA rider or two didn't go for it . Yeah I know ... Supercross.

It really is. Not very often that the AMA schedule ends so much earlier than the GPs, with all these GP races still to happen. Opportunity knocking.

In a perfect world, I hope he does well and gets a shot in MXGP for '22 and beyond.

Wright seems like he could be the type to really make it happen.

I think he's got another year in Canada. No matter, pretty sure that if he got an offer to race Europe...? Everyone involved would come together to make it happen.

I'd be stoked to have him come to the US/a US team in '23.

I don't think his SX skills are quite there to be on a US team. Pettis on the other hand would be a great addition to the US series, IMO. Pettis will be training at the Baker's Factory, so hopefully he can put in some solid results in SX 2022.

There was talk of Dylan filling in for Sexton at the last rounds of the nationals, but he had that big get off in SX up here and that put a rest to those plans seeing as he had to heal up for MXdN.

He still has 1 more year up here, but like you said, if the right opportunity came along I think everyone would do everything in their power to make it happen. Would love to see him in MXGP full time.

Regardless, this is a big opportunity and a very exciting one to watch develop. Looking forward to the next 5 rounds.

Let's go Dylan!

Good luck to him! Gonna follow him the upcoming races.

Is he a good starter from himself? Or does he need to get used to the MXGP starting meshes?

He started upfront at MXoN, so hopefully he can replicate those starts. Usually he's not the best, but maybe he clicked with the starting grates. We start on dirt up here.

Struggled with bike setup in the morning. In the 2nd moto he got cleaned out on the 2nd lap which put him at the back of the pack and from there he settled in for the race.

Bring on Wednesday.

Good thing is , he has 3 races in a week on same track
Yep. I think he'll be better by the end of the series. He's now got laps under his belt on this track and he's raced Mantova, so that should help a little.

There's not much hard pack around where he rides at home. Sand is practically all we have around our area, so that's what he's most comfortable on.
