If the 01 yz250 is a good bike? This thing is in mint condition and the seller says less than 10 hours on it. I have a steel framed yzf and the paint wears off really fast where your boot rubs and this baby aint got much missing! I'd say he's telling the truth. He's asking 1650 but I figure 15 cash will get it. BUT does the bike handle well, ect. so I'm lookin fer some input

Buy it. The '01 YZ250 was the best of the bunch.

I once had a 01 YZ 125 and it was great. but mine had suspension done and a little motor work. But i thought it handled very well for a steal frame.

1996 through 2001 were all the same design with the 2001 being the best of that design before yamaha did their last real update.The 02 through 2011 are all the new design with the upright cylinder and the only difference is the susp got better every year. 2004 through 2011 has great forks and shock 02 and 03 needed a little help but all were better than the 01

Good, neutral handling just like the current YZ 2 strokes. Powerband was pretty good but not as "smooth" as the motors of 03-current.

I'd say to snatch that sucker up. Looks very clean.
