* One more win would do it. It could have happened last year, but didn't.

* Can Tomac surpass Carmichael's SX win record @ 48?

* Can Tomac surpass Stewart's SX win record @ 50?

* Can Tomac surpass McGrath's.......... FUGGEDABOUTIT !!!

Enjoy!

I think he will get to Carmichael and maybe tie James. I believe he is going to win 2023 SX and retire.

He won how many last year? Seven. If he won that many this year, he would have 51 wins.

BOOM !!

Would love to see him atleast tie JS7 just for the sake of a new guy getting up there with the legends.

I wonder how hungry he will be text year? Tomac had something to prove after leaving Kawasaki, but after winning both titles this year he really has nothing left to prove. Plus the competition will probably be tougher with a confident sexton and Anderson. I’d love to see him tie Stewart though.

Impressive that dunge has 34 wins and 4 titles, wow.

I'll make the call now, tomac will have 52 wins and 3 titles by the end of the next season.

Right now, I'll spitball 6 wins, one less than last season, which would leave him exactly tied with Stew.

He's definitely passing Chad in 2023. No way he doesn't win atleast once.

I think he's a chance to jump Ricky and James too. But not exactly a sure thing.

Had he not hurt his knee this year maybe he would have gotten close to 10. If he’s Healthy and motivated there’s no reason to think that he would at least not get to 5.

I think this will strongly depend on Anderson and Sexton. If Tomac is the same as this year, I say yes. If Anderson and Sexton step it up and eliminate their weird races or crashes, then it might be tough to overtake Stewart, but I do think he gets Reed and Carmichael next year. Dude is both at the peak and the end of his career, which is crazy to me lol.

Didn't Dunge, Ricky, Poto, all peak at the end of their career?

Yeah but Tomac already goes hard for 12 years now, and he still improved on the yamaha. Not only is he as fast as ever, he also gets good starts now. That's the crazy part to me. The other riders usually retired after 8-9 years?

New bike?
Why don't they leave the current bike alone?

Sometimes they fiddle with a bike just to be fiddling (and make it worse).

They dropped 5 lbs and cleaned up the ergos, while keeping the same base design. I would guess most riders who like the current one will be pleased.

It's not exactly a revolutionary set of changes.

This is true. Amazing what Tomac did this year. I think he will only pass RC though. Not JS.

I also suspect he may ride the world SX series next year instead of the Nationals. Something new and unique. I bet they throw a huge amount of money at him.

Fair. Tomac's competitive longevity is rare for riders at their peak. It is not in Cairoli ranks, but it is a cut above nearly all Supercross champions.

Ita crazy to think what his career would have been if he was on the right team this whole time.

He's literally been a champion on every team on which he has raced.

Better than a good chance i'd say.

It's crazy to think there are probably 4 titles that very likely could have been in his cabinet too... the 3 SX chips in 17/18/19 and the 15 outdoors. He's already got 7. That would have been 11 and very rarified air. RV has 9. RC has 15.

Also will be super interesting to see how the new bike impacts his thought process. The new team obviously refreshed things for him, if the bike is super good, an improvement over what he has...

Because that's how good of a rider he is, his days at kawasaki were very underwhelming compared to how he was riding on the Honda in terms of raw speed, his best year performance wise with kawi was when he was chasing Dungey for the SX title.

Since his arrival at Yamaha is a completely different man and his riding shows it, no Eli weirdness.

If he had his comfort and confidence he has now through out his whole career he'd break some records.

That’s the crazy thing, take away any one of those three and someone’s above McGrath’s tally, which is inconceivable.
Definitely the pinnacle of SX to date. But Tomac belongs in that company, legend.

Sooooo....what category will SuperMotoCross round wins get thrown into? A new category I assume? None at all? If held indoors like at LA Coliseum like they kept saying is that a SX Win? I guess like winning the Monster Cup, everyone celebrates the win and the money, but not in any record books.

Cool pic. If that happened today people would be complaining that Reed is sawing off RCs front end and RC is t-boning James...
