That Lierop track is soooo rough & rutted.
It is amazing how smooth Marc looked on it. Smile

Calimero is doing it Bubba-style !!

It's barely mid-moto and he is in the lead after an early, nasty crash into the fallen Barragan and a furious chase thru the pack...

DeDycker is coming back though... Awesome racing. Goooooo Calimero !

Lierop is a fantastic MX track, a true relief after the ridiculous track seen in Ireland last week...

Amazing ride (come back) from youngster Desalle.
1 more lap and he would be on the podium.

Lierop is the best true outdoor motocross track on the planet.

With tracks like that why are they holding the MXdN on a man made sx style track? Dumb!

Great job Marc!

That is one thing that I really like about the GP's. There is so much parity that winners can be decided off of what surfaces they are racing on for a given weekend. Why is it that all of our tracks are the some hard base with sand mixed in?

I'm pretty sure he crashed a few times.

On the first few laps Barragan crashed right in front of him and he ended up going over the bars, he was way back then worked his way into the lead, crashed again, caught back up to the leaders and settled for third, so STFU about his fitness.

Good job Marc, that's good stuff. And for anyone looking for an explanation, how's this-- previous to Southwick, Marc had never been to an on-track prayer service before. Now, with god in his corner, he's kicking butt!

Before, he was the sandman, now he's the Minister of Sand, ordained by god himself.Silly

Dude relax. It was a joke. Do you have jokes over there? Yet another stiff ass brit.

Didn't sound like a joke. Sounded like a dumbass who didn't even watch the race trying to bag on De Reuver's fitness.

I will tell you what...
In the first moto, Marc rode so SMOOTH that he made that track look easy. Smile
In the second moto after his first crash -he was several seconds faster then anyone on the track.I think he must have passed 6 or 7 guys in one lap.
Some VERY impressive rides in both motos.

After the crash with Barragan he was on another planet! Adrenaline must have kicked in a for a few laps he was 4 sec faster than everyone else but the track bite him back and he then went for the overall rather than risk losing it all.

There were a few laps where he was just flying! Coppins came back so strong in the last minute until he went down.

Great racing.

De Dycker was also clearly messing with Philipaerts in the second heat. Trying to slow him down. But Ramon just didn't play his part big disapointment for him.

Calimero is a icon to the US motocross family. He came here on his own dime and on his own time to race. He was cool beyond words. He (personally) made no claims. He did extremely well in a totally different climate. Thousands of US outdoor motocross fans are tuning in via media zone and the internet to the GP's due to his apperance.
I was screaming and rooting for him today. Never cared who won a GP before in my life.

Thanks Marc for your US efforts. You have thousands of fans across the lake chearing for you!

Never seen anything like this before. Barragan crashed and Marc couldn't avoid crashing into him. He fell back to 15th place and 4 laps later he was leading the field again, incredible!! He was 7 seconds faster than second man Philippaerts and 4 seconds faster than leader De Dycker at that time. Too bad he had a small crash later, but he still took the overall.

See for yourself, including the crash:
