California Senate Bill 227 i.e. Phone in and state your support @1:45pm PST

Howdy Yall,

As you know the red sticker program has ended for model year 2022 competition style models and will have no access "legally" to public lands. I.E. Glamis, Ocotillo, ect ect.

Easily put you will only be able to ride tracks and sanctioned events.

As I no longer live in commifornia I still want to make sure the future generations have access to use of public lands on all OHV models.

If you have the time today at 1:45pm Please call in and show your support for our industry.

""per chance you have any riders or shop owners that might want to call in. We are getting close.

This hearing is supposed to start around 2pm today. So just to be safe, please phone in at 1:45pm and wait
for the video facilitator or moderator to call you as they have done at other hearings.

As before, just state who you are and that you SUPPORT SB 227.

Thanks a million!

For the unfamiliar these hearings are held in alphabetical by Author, not numerical order.

The agenda is:

SB66
SB214
SB640
SB814
SB548
SB671
SB227
SB372
...

That means SB227 could come up a short or long while into the session I don't know how fast they run. If you want to comment you can listen to the internet stream here and then call in about when SB671 is being discussed to be on the line and ready for SB227.

This bill did already pass through the assembly transportation committee last year as SB1024.

Question from someone who doesn't come from California, Why would they want these bikes to not go to a public OHV area? Isn't that less revenue for the state?

Control under the cover of "emissions." Plain and simple, they hate us and don't want us doing what we do.

Government is not a profit motivated organization but also:

The OHV fund is separate from the general fund, and already so loaded from it's share of the gas tax revenue that it's been raided by the general fund several times and is still overflowing with money.

CARB is a separate entity from those that receive revenue from OHV entrance fees. CARB's only mandate is to oversee air quality issues, and they've been so successful on-road that their main targets are now off-road, mainly landscaping equipment but also this.

And beside all that, 2003-2021 model red stickers will be allowed year round access after 2025, so that will probably result a net increase in summer entrances to the SVRA's for at least a decade.
