This was posted on our local site, and I wondered about it's accuracy. What say you?
I was reading this whole blow up over our local tracks thinking they should be charging more for practice and as usual the California die hards have to chime in so it got me thinking I should do some research and here it is! I compiled a listing of many MX tracks and there practice fee's along with the cost of living difference and as expected we are getting fed a bill of goods! How can California do this with a higher cost of living and we can't???
Cahuilla Creek MX Park $20.00 951-926-4646
Competitive Edge Motocross Park $15.00 760-947-7556 motocross and supercross
Franklin Field Arena $20.00 661-847-6375
Glen Helen Raceway $20.00 909-880-3090
Gorman I-5MX $15.00 818-700-3559
Lake Elsinore Motocross Park $20.00 951-515-4518 motocross and supercross
Pala Raceway $20.00 under 18 price is $15.00 888-725-2691
Perris Raceway $15.00 951-657-7441
RaceTown 395 Motorcycle Park $20.00 909-496-2569
Ridgecrest Motorsports Complex $20.00 760-375-8000
River MX $20.00 909-528-6000
Santa Maria Fairpark $20.00
World Motoplex $20.00 with year membership 800-800-8650 indoor motocross
Zaca Station MX Park $20.00 members $30.00 non-members 805-693-1209
805-693-1072
Argyll Park $20.00 925-308-4814
Club Moto $20.00 925-443-6686
Cycleland Speedway $20.00 530-342-0063
E-Street MX with membership $20.00 without $25.00 530-673-7024
Tulare Cycle Park $20.00 559-687-8879
Average practice fee = $18.16
If you move from Fort Worth, Tx to Fresno, Ca and you make $50,000/year the cost of living calculators on the internet say you will need to make $64,736 to have the same quality of life.
Do the math ($50,000/$64,736)*$18.16 = $14.03
Even if you calcuate it using $20 ($50,000/$64,736)*$20.00 = $15.45
Notice that some of these tracks have different lower prices for kids as well as membership/non member prices like three palms (good/bad I still have mixed feelings about that). Bottom line for all of you trying to justify the cost using California our practice fee's should be going down or staying the same!

We do have quite a few though, maybe 10 within a 1.5 hour drive?
The Shop
Riverfront Park; $20 with no membership required like E st does. But if you have the membership for E st, you can practice at both E and Riverfront on the same day for the one price of $20 on the weekend days both have only practices. Only 5-8 minutes away from each other. Same person operates both.
Prarie City MX track run by AMP- $20.....
Sandhill Ranch in Brentwood- $25 and $5 for each spectators.
Thanks SEEMEFIRST.
Starwest is $20
Antelope Valley Fairgrounds is ???
Adelanto Motoplex = closed and converting to trucks?
LACR is $25 and there's a membership deal
Barona Oaks is $25 for non-members
I don't get out that much so I'm just pulling stuff off the net. ProRide has a lot of tracks listed and there's a ton here - http://www.mxtracks.us/mx/phpCalifornia/index.php
comp edge is hurting and lowered the fees. the wind blows there just about always. the new owners do not prep any where near as good as the old ones and the numberes have declined tremendously.
AMP will be back soon with a CORR track as well as a mx track. the cost is unknown right now. they did have a membership fee before they closed.
the membership fee's are said to be "insurance related"
as i understand it.... it is a legal system thing. since you are part of the "CLUB" you are limited for what you can sue for, since you are part of the "club" i could be way off, i am no attorney.
Thursdays until dusk...Saturdays, until 2pm, (unless there is a scheduled race)
Subject to change because of the up-coming national. Will be black the week end prior.
Racing every Saturday, and Sunday.
That's what I was after. They are nervous about the thought of a fully fluffed track going to $20.00.
Gee wiz.
GORMAN 25.00
CAL CITY 25.00
PORTERVILLE OHV 15.00
There are decent tracks in PA and NY, everything is a 1.5hr drive at best.
Sometimes I wish I lived in CA.
