I don't know the real reason for practicing on the 2 smoke, I presume it's to keep the fun going!

Could easily top 5 anywhere on that thing. Looks just like when I ride my 250. Damn that was cool.

I wonder if they are going to let 2 strokes in the des nations this year, seeing they are letting them in the emx250 .
How cool would that be to see Cairoli rock up on a smoker after winning the GPS and win the over all.
It's good to dream!

That'd be pretty sweet and who knows he might even do it, not like Italy really has much of a shot at the win.

It would be nice, but I doubt it, he takes the team thing quite seriously, thats why he dropped down to the 250f a few years back to give Italy it's best chance and he hurt his knee/ankle .
It would be nice to see some top riders in mx2 division on smokers at the nation's though!

There's nothing to stop a 2t from being used at the MXDN, as far as I know. But I'd think you'd have to use a 125 as your MX2 entry, and a 250 as your MXGP /Open bike.
Though, perhaps the new equivalency rule in EMX might be a way in? I doubt it, though.

I don't think MX3 rules apply at all - you know, the old MX3 class that allowed up to 500cc 2ts and up to 650(?) 4ts. It would be bloody funny if somehow they hadn't nixed the old MX3 rules for the 'open' class, and some team chose to enter a 300 2t . I'd not even speculate about a bigger 2t - even though I ride a Dinosaur, I don't think for a moment that one would ever be put to use in the MXDN.

Yeah, I was sort of hoping that the emx rules would let someone like Cairoli or any other mx1 rider drop down to the mx2 , but on a 250 smoker.
It would make the Nation's even more interesting/controversial!!

True, Cairoli could probably do it on a 250f also, but it would be nicer and more controversial to do it on a smoker, 250 t = possibly , 125= highly unlikely even for RV in his prime, but who knows , it's not like the little smoker hasn't been triumphant before!

That is one of the best exercises a man can do. Good technique, and the whole body benefits.

I get so amped when I see the word "deadlift", think I'll deadlift my office desk right now!

I think Antonio won a Moto on the 250F at the 2006 Matterly MXDN.

You never know, he might decide to give the 250 2T a go this year at Matterly.

At Keggums, he looked to be (to me) by far the fastest out on the track, as he started to hunt down the leaders after a bit of a bad start. Right up until he twisted the hell out of his knee in that prang.

I loved his simplicity / honesty in an interview after it. He said something along the lines of "I was going very fast - perhaps too fast". I think after it seemed he'd finally shrugged off his MXDN Jinx, he wanted to go for a Double win on the 250F that year.

In 2006 , he was definitely the fastest that Moto, passing both Townley and Villopoto for the lead, it was a fantastic race to watch ( pure trade mark Cairoli, crawling all over the back of them waiting to pounce)

I would love to see him on 2 stroke at Matterly this year, if he won on that the noise of the crowd would be deafening ( it was in 2006)

Shame about Keggums , but his loss was our win for Searle, who had also dropped down to the 250f.
