With Cairoli returning, where do you think he finishes at Budd's?

He take break when he come home to recover, but he has been ramping up the training recently. Whilst he lack some sharpness/race pace intensity, he is putting in some motos and his prep coming in this time is better.

Do you see him landing first podium, 1-4 seconds a lap slower than Sexton, Tomac, Craig, Anderson, Roczen as before, right around where Dungey is or smoked and find himself just inside the top ten?

Probably P6 but maybe P5... He's a great dude and one of the best to ever race an MX bike. But he's no longer at the tip of the spear. He might mix it up with Roczen and Dungey, but he's behind the 2 rockets and probably Anderson too.

I don't know what he has been doing all summer since the last time we saw him, but if he has not been racing, I will be surprised if he makes top 10. But I cannot wait to watch and see.

In a normal year the field would start thinning by this point. Fortunately, the field has been relatively healthy and on top of that adding 3 additonal factory guys for the last few makes it even more deep than when he was racing early in the year. I would think 6-10 would be his landing spot and if I was ktm/ac I would be happy with that.

Agree, in each of the next few races, Ferrandis will be moving forward... I don't think he gets to the 2 rockets, but Anderson has been that regular P3 guy and that's now in play for Dylan.

No racing since. After coming home he relax, he tweaked his knee which needed some rest - his knees is quite weak for number of years.

It is summer, so he enjoy life between riding as normal, he is not grinding. But he put in more motos, I think his prep should be a little better. Red Bud of course is his focus and he build to that over the next three race, but he will be very disappointed if he can't make top 10 at Budds!

Excited to see Ferrandis over the three race. Hard to imagine he'll be able to mix it with Tomac or Sexton but he is gritty!

He sure killed my fantasy team. Took the bait with that qualifying time, and hearing he had something to prove… Only thing he proved was I should’ve picked Jeremy Hand over him. Pinch

9th in first moto. I'm surprised he didn't finish higher.

He got 19th and didn't start the second moto?

I'm so confused. Ama can't even get the results right. Literally put the moto 2 results from unadilla last week in there instead of budds moto 2 results. 🤔

I suspect his results are due to the first moto crash. Likely tweaked something.

Saw Antonio and his wife walking into the Alpinestars medical rig after the second moto.

Saw his crash up close. He got rammed full speed in the back. I'm surprised he kept going

Tony:

“The idea was to come here to make some more gate drops before the Motocross of Nations. I always like this track and after 15 years I want to come back. I felt a little bit uncomfortable immediately after the incident and I just wanted to keep riding because I come all the way here to train at least a little bit. In the second moto, I put some ice and I hoped that it would be a little better but unfortunately it wasn’t good. I couldn’t really push the way I wanted, I just rode 50% of the possibilities and I didn’t want to crash and risk it. We checked it and unfortunately, I have a little crack on my hand and I just need a couple of days of rest and let’s try to regroup and be ready for Motocross of Nations, which will be our next race and our biggest of the year.”

Well shit. Was hoping I'd get to see him ride in person at Ironman.

The reason I decided to go to Budds Creek yesterday was because I knew it might be the last time I would get to see Cairoli and Dungey race in person. I'm really glad I went now. Got to talk to both of them, as well. I hope Tony recovers quickly.
