I've just gotten my 8th flat in 7 hours on this thing seems like every time I ride it I get a rear flat.

I'm not jumping it in riding down fields and gravel to run my dog

Anyone else have this issue? Did anyone fix this?

Got a broken or loose spoke that’s poking the tube while you ride? Running enough air pressure to keep the rim off the ground?

There’s got to be a sharp spot or you’re pinching it somehow but I think after 8 flats you would be able to see where the puncture is coming from. If it’s a mystery soak one of your old tubes in a bucket of water or spray with soapy water and look for bubbles.

Blow the tube up and find out where are the holes in your tube located. If they are on the side then it a pinched tube, run more air pressure, if it's on the outer area (knobby area) then you might have something stuck in your tire. A big problem for me was the tire rotating and pulling the valve stem out. I drilled a hole and installed a bead lock.

Might need twin rim locks on that horsepower monster if you’re going to twist it hard.

Are you running a rim lock?

We have two CRF110’s. Had a lot of flats. I think if I recall, we drilled holes, added rim locks and increased tire pressure.

Check the tire for thorns/something that would pop them, or a barb on a spoke end. Like others have said, air up your old tubes and see if they all match where they are leaking

When I first got a KLX 110 we got constant flats as well. Not as many as you are saying, but maybe half that many.

I tried a rim lock, it didn't work. What did work was increasing the tire pressure, I believe to 20-25 PSI.

Is the hole in the same spot every time? If so almost definitely a sharp spoke.

Rim locks and air pressure helps. It's not the torque from the engine, its the torque from braking that can spin the tire/tube on the rim on a 110.

Tearing at or near the stem = rim lock
Hole on the inner side of the tube = spoke
Hole on the side of the tube = pinch

I am sure they are only flat on the bottom, roll the wheel 180° and you'll be fine.

On a serious note up the PSI.

Not sure about Alaska, but we have a lot of thorny trees around here and you have to carefully check for thorns still in the tire.

Same as everyone is saying, drill in a rim lock and run minimum of 20-25 PSI.

Also, if you don’t have a Shift Shaft protector installed, do it now. Absolutely essential accessory.

rim lock and more air pressure if you're aggressive

I run 2 rimlocks in my modded klx110(138kit with 6mm stroker crank) to be able to run 15psi

Like the others said, add a rim lock. Never had a CRF, but it was an issue on our KLX. If you install the nut that is on the tube's valve stem, and run a "normal" air pressure, the tire will slip on the rim and rip the valve stem because of all the added traction the rear tire has with an adult rider . A lot of people get away with running 20-25 PSI and not putting a nut on the valve stem. But installing a rim lock is best.

Is that needed on a KLX/DRZ 110 too? Never heard of it before. I know about the cradle kit but not aware of the shift shaft kit.

At the shop, we used to repair ton of ripped out valves on pit bikes with 12" rims (KLX110, CRF110, TTR90's, etc), usually attributed to low tire pressure. I asked the customers many times how often they checked tire pressure, or what the tire pressure was, and almost always got a blank stare and a "I dunno". Most people never check them, then ride it with 8psi and ripppp goes the valve stem. We stocked at least 6 12" tubes at a time, it was our largest selling tube.

There is not much tyre sidewall and its pretty soft, I'd say you are getting snake bite punctures, therefore you need to run a higher tyre pressure.

Sorry, just know about the CRF issue. We bent a shift shaft early on, before knowing you needed a protector. Can’t speak for other bikes, but we never had them on our old KLX….

We used to have a KLX110 pitbike and we ran a mousse on the rear - felt a little weird but never had an issue with it. sold that bike and got another KLX110 and now run a normal tube. Love the feel but Have gone through 3 different tubes. Next time, going back to the mousse. All issues were related to kids hopping on the bike and riding it without checking air pressure, 100%.

And shout out plug to the Baja No pinch tire tool making life better, because changing tires on a 12" rim suck major monkey balls without it.
