AHRMA guys are funny. 82 490, you can't give them away. If it were an 81 465, it would be 3,000. If it were an 83 CR480, it would be even more. Won't even mention Maicos...

Specifically, the 1982 YZ490 is the worst of the 490s. Retarded rear suspension and heavy. No bueno.
I think the 88-90s are kind of cool though.

They fixed the dreadful handling by then, but they still pinged nonstop and vibrated like a paint shaker.

Not saying its a geeat bike. But it looks like good condition for an MX bike thats as old as I am.

See. Hahaha. I'm down with the AHRMA, have a cherry 82 YZ100 myself. Can't decide if I want to do anything with it, or let it go to an aspiring Diamond Don's racer to take down Uptite this year.

Yeah, it's like finding a Chevy Vega GT in showroom condition. You can appreciate the novelty of finding it -- even to the point of almost wanting it -- but then you remember what it actually is.

I had an 83 YZ100...Loved that bike..it was fast as he'll for an 11 yr old lol..

One of my best riding buds had one of those. His knees are shot. His shoulders are blown out. His ankles are like wet noodles and his back pain is almost constant.
