The X games promoter had no issues allowing Garrett Reynolds to advertise his sponsor, CBD MD. Reynolds is also a Red Bull sponsored rider. Sure would be nice to see the AMA and Feld read the facts about hemp and endorse something that works. Far better than alcohol or tobacco sponsors of the past of which the AMA had no issues with.

Devon Smillie had a weed maps t shirt on in the same group as Garrett Reynolds and I thought the same thing. Why is it ok at xgames, much younger target demographic, than at a motocross event on prime time national television?

Weed Maps is an app to help you find dispensaries. They don't sell weed or CBD. There's nothing illegal about what they do.

I’ve been doing some work with X Games this summer and it’s a grey area. Seems like they are unsure how to handle it. I got the feeling that shows airing on ESPN have more leeway but ABC features are a bit more strict.

We did a Profile with Devun Smillie(BMX) and asked if he could just wear a WM shirt instead of full “weedmaps” spelled out. But didn’t force him, just asked. Tom Parsons and Jimmy Hill(flattrack) had full WeedMaps on helmets.

Things will get figured out soon, it’s just happening fast and all so new no one had a clear answer.

Yea it wasn’t Feld it was NBC who made Deano block out his logos. But if it wasn’t NBC, Feld probably still wouldn’t allow it

...or they'd be chasing the sponsorship dollars.
