What are some things that wouldn't prevent you from buying a used bike, but that piss you off just the same?
Mine:
1) Renthal Chainwheel stickers (or similar) vulcanized to the swingarm
2) Mismatched bolts
3) Chewed up pre-load adjuster
Yours?

Oh, so you are just a dirt lot riding retard who never did any maintenance, or has any clue about taking care of a MX bike?
Sold.
The Shop
Actually I will walk from painted rims even if it "ceramic painted" lol
Bent/tweaked radiators/subframe/exhaust
I can use shitty parts on a bike to talk em down in price and fix it myself later, but I hate when I know the engine isn't immaculate.
I've always maintained my bikes and well... so when someone starts saying something retarded I can't wait to get the fuck outta there...
If there has been an issue, just fucking tell me. If it has been sorted, sweet, prove it. If it hasn't at least let me assess wether I want to take that risk or not. Just people being bs dickheads really.
I know this will make me sound like a snob, but when the seller can't even begin to spell.... that's definitely one of them. I could go to ebay right now and list a dozen examples. Not saying I'm wonderful in that regard either but when someone isn't even competent, then not only is the ad frustrating to decipher, but you also get the impression (perhaps wrongly) that they may not know shit about the bike.
The other is when the seller insists the bike is "MINT!!" and "LOOK @ THIS STUNNING BIKE!!!" when the bike clearly isn't anywhere near mint. Even more funny when the same people aren't open to offers... "No dreamers or silly offers please".
Clapped out wheel bearings
Clapped out shock bushings
Pit Row
When they try to tell me it only has 20 hours total time, I get there and it looks more like 220.
Not washed.
If they won't go to the effort to wash it to sell, it makes me question how often they performed routine maintenance.
"IT'S FAST!".
Also had a seller on the phone with another guy who. He was trying to buy a quad from. He kept telling the guy yeah the guy is right here as son as he pays me I will run down and pay you. Too bad he completely misrepresented the bike on line. Also it was dark when I got there and he insisted on rolling the bike out in the dark drive way for me to look at it instead of in the garage with lights on.
It's supposed to be dirty, it's a dirt bike.
Everything is fresh... Get there and the linkage is as sloppy as the guys girlfriend and the fork seals are leaking.
Basically I hate buying used bikes. I do, but I get nervous every time.
"good tires"
Monster stickers
and most of all
"never raced" which to me means never maintained
I usually just keep looking when I see any of those things
-Aforementioned stickers welded to the swingarm or frame.
-Mismatched parts from other bikes that CLEARLY do not belong on this one. Case in point, my buddy bought a used YZ125 last spring, the silencer was from god knows what, and there was about a 3 1/2 inch gap from where it met with the expansion chamber. Previous owner's solution? Garden hose and 2 hose clamps.
